The number of people is insane. Wow.
|
|
Biggest attendance for any event in KC history they are saying on the webcast.
I am watching on ESPN3, and they have the KMBC broadcast with Larry Moore. |

Weather looks great as well in KC.

Hopefully the Royals get a bunch of new fans from this. Like the 2 chicks on my team who I know have never watched a Royals game ever yet took off to go down.
|
Who are the people inside the pick-up trucks driving the players?
|
The shot of all the cops I'm front of the truck with the blown up trophy really got K for some reason.
|
Watching on TV. KC looking good.
|
Thinking of Mr. K, Splitt and Dick Howser today. Those guys have to be grinning ear-to-ear from the Box Seats up above.....

I like how Ned keeps securing the trophy to the top of the truck. Very carefully!

There are at least 173800 people in that photo.

How many 1378 references have been made?

I took today off to watch this. Never watch parades much but this is fantastic.

That is way more than the million man march.

Some of the kids are looking kind of bored. They need to remember that this is a blue snow day and enjoy the hell out of it.

I'm at Union Station & I'm hearing people have parked their cars on I-70 & I-35 to watch this. That's insane.
A cop I just talked to said they underestimated this whole thing. He thinks there are 750,000 - 1,000,000 people here. The traffic jam getting out of here is going to be nuts. Pray for me. |
Crazy but I love it.

Was the Tech9?

Johnny Gomes proudly waving that American Flag. Dude is awesome.
|
I've seen some large masses of people at the National Mall in D.C. for major events and this looks just like it.
I estimate there are at least 400,000-500,000 people in attendance. Pretty impressive but a little claustrophobic! |
LOL. Salvy.
"Esky! Esky! Esky!" |
Lmao, Salvy took over MC duties
|
Thank you salvy!
|
Holy shit Johhny Gomes

Johnny Gomes: "Cy Young winner... Not on our team. Beat him. Rookie of the year. Not on our team. We beat him. MVP of the whole league... Sorry, guys, not on our team, but we beat that guy too. Y'll want to be politically correct? We whooped their ass." *Mic Drop*

Anybody getting that SI TV Offer subscription? Looks like a decent deal.
|
I was down for the parade but left just as it was coming to an end. Even my scrawny ass couldn't wiggle close enough to see much of anything. Utterly insane the number of people out there. I got back to Westport (where I parked) in time to catch the rally on TV at one of the bars. Would have loved to have stayed for all of it, but it just want worth it since I wasn't going to see our hear shit.

I parked at City Market and walked down to P&L where I hung out and watched the majority of it on the big screen above the live stage.
I was able to communicate via TWC wifi there which was nice due to cellular service being a complete no-show. Totally insane. |
I was at the parade but skipped the rally. The amount of people was insane.

Traffic Jams?
Yes.

Welp. parked at 0900 at 27th and Troost and walked down...it was just a madhouse.
 |
Got to Union Station about 10:15 and it was already filling up... insane how many more people jammed into that area after that. Sitting on hotel wifi, thinking I might get home by 7... maybe?
|

I escaped the core of downtown right as the rally was starting. Good luck out there, people. Don't try to beat a ****ing yellow.
Looking at you, school bus that blocked the intersection of Wyandotte and 13th for 20 minutes. |
The bars and bartenders are going to make a small fortune down there today along with anyone selling souvenirs.
Good time for home burglars to rob houses with everyone in the plaza including the police! |
It'll be hours before people can get out of there it looks like, but what a scene!
|
After 30 years, you Royals fans deserve it!:clap::clap::clap:
Congrats to all, have fun and be safe!!! :grouphug: |
Amazing fantastic positive crowd. Just worth whatever to be part of something so positive. The world is so ****ing screwed yet we see what is possible through a kids game.
