Rivers cannot take two sacks on that final drive. They were five yards out of FG range, which then turned into 20. |

Do you pay any attention? Damn near their entire team is injured. They started 4 different LTs IN THE SAME GAME. They've started 29 different offensive lineman over the past 5 seasons, which is the most in the league. Rivers is basically working with a Skelton crew, patchwork offensive line of fatties off the street, and below average defenses year after year.. And they still tend to go 7-9 to 9-7. I'd say he's a ****ing miracle worker. |
Chargers too distracted with moving plans.

Because Chargers... |

They really have been on the decline the past 5 seasons, and have been decimated by injuries this season. The only reason they've managed to be average throughout is because of Rivers. A Franchise QB can keep you competitive by hiding weaknesses in most cases, but if the team relies on that as it's only consistent asset, over time it's not enough. |
At this point i really feel bad for them. The amount of injuries over the past two seasons is insane. This season...i've never in all my years of watching football have seen anything like this.
They have so many injuries and every week another significant starter goes down. It's almost like a running gag at this point. It's unreal. They're legitimately playing with 2nd-4th stringers all through out their roster. Again, i've never seen anything like this in all my years of watching football. This has to be the worst string of bad luck injuries i've ever seen. ....and yet they're still competitive because of Rivers. Shows how much a franchise Qb matters. |

2009 was their last double digit win season, and was their 5th trip to the playoff in 6 seasons. The Chargers were 46-18 in Phillip's first 4 seasons, back when they were taunting Cutler, etc and the big men in the division. Supposedly... In the 5 1/2 seasons since, they are 44-45 overall... 1 failed trip to the playoffs as a WC in 2013. Rivers puts up nice stats but few wins. Rivers is a 12 year guy with a decent career, but will forever be in the shadow of Eli and Big Ben... and unless something radically changes, he'll never be in the discussion for HOF, nor should he be at this point. Too bad really, the guy is a gamer... |
LMAO It's amazing that this guy still has a job.

I'd say I'm being reasonable. For the past few seasons now the injuries to that team have been so incredibly ridiculous that it's hard to fault anyone but the conditioning coaches. They're routinely down to their 3rd and 4th stringers on multiple positions along the offensive line. Their ground game is consistently one of the worst in the league. Their defense, at best, is just below average. And yet they're still a dangerous team with Rivers at QB. You can't deny that he is very good. Meanwhile, Alex had a top 3 scoring defense, top 3 running back, top 15 #1 WR and top 5 TE, we miss the playoffs and you're arguing that he needed more. Well, maybe if we stack the team with All-Pros at every single position then we'll be able to win some games of importance with Smith at QB! |
