This will be a fun thread to bump after the game next week.

Say, didn't KC just have a similar 1st quarter output against a much better defense?

Houston is also elite because of the length of time between struggles. He may have a rough game, as he is human, but that doesn't mean jack shit in regards to it being replicated. Nut up, or shut up!! |
Haley returns

I think Houston has been shelved in recent weeks to ensure he's 100% fresh. He could have played. Don't be shocked if we see the Justin Houston from Denver #1. Dude is going to be FRESH.

We are not only going to win, KC is going to destroy Pittsburgh.
Bitch slap in KC.... watch. Pitt looks like dog shit on the road and they are gonna run into a team full of players that got embarrassed the last time they played. Recipe for an Ass Beating. We should know too. It happened to us in week 4. |

2) Home national audience/prime time games this year have been won relatively easily. |
#14 again.

Dolphins are gonna win LMAO
Oops Moore fumbles |

But to ignore that Pittsburgh's strengths being our weaknesses is foolish. Going to need their best effort of the season on Sunday. |

Well, we beat PITT in the last home playoff meeting between the two teams.
Keith Cash to Freddie Jones to Joe to Tim Barnett. |

I just think it's a game to be excited about, not to fear. |
By the way, props to OTWP58 for making a great reference of the title to the thread that is currently in the Hall of Classics, started by Crime Fighter.

I will say this, with almost any NFL caliber starting QB this is a tie game

Hey I'm glad that Steeler offense is firing on all cylinders today. And sure glad we don't have to play them in their place.

Over the last 6 games Chiefs have averaged 25.5 points per game. I think they can beat anyone that comes to Arrowhead. Bring on the Steelers!

Pittsburgh doesn't have anyone who can cover Kelce, or Hill, and probably not even Maclin.
Will the media say that? No, but that's the facts. |

Kyle should really just pack up shop and start saving himself some cash. You can't even have a football discussion around here without people getting their panties in a bunch. No one is "scared" of Pittsburgh. But some of us are smart enough to recognize that they are a damn good team, and a bad matchup for us. I can only speak for myself, but that makes me more excited for the game, not less. Going to be a huge test. Hope we're up for it. |

What Pittsburgh is doing to Miami today is what the Chiefs will be doing to Pittsburgh next week. Think about it. Miami destroyed Pitt early in the year at Miami and now the Steelers are exacting revenge at their place. Also, someone mentioned a mediocre defense. I just looked it up and Miami is ranked #29 in total defense and #18 in points allowed. Not a good defense at all. I'm really not sure how they managed to win 10 games.

OTW would get hammered by the true fans if he says we won't win so I'll say it for him. Pittsburgh is going to beat us.

We're certainly going to need our best effort, but we can win this game. |
The more I see of this game, the better I am starting to feel. As someone pointed out, the Dolphins have 1 win against a winning team this year and it was against the Steelers with a hurt Ben.
And yet, if the Dolphins had gotten even average QB play, this is a game. |

I'm sure they love the matchup, and that's fine, but they should realize by now that this Chiefs team is far different than it was week 4. Like way different. |

That's a good one |

Steelers play alot of zone anyway
|
Truth is they're going to play zone defenses for most of the game as they always do. But if you ask Shazier to 'man up' Kelce for most of the game, he'll get f**king torched.
|
No one thought we would run the table on our division..... Beat Atlanta and Carolina on the road with some luck.... Anything is possible..

Gotta limit that counter. That is their bread and butter.

Sure its gonna be a tough game, stopping Bell and Brown is a yuge test... but just like others have said, if we cant beat them in Arrowhead after 2 weeks preparation and rest, then we werent gonna beat the Pats anyway
Bring on the Steel Men |

He's going to have to have a great day, because I don't see our defense shutting down the run AND the pass. They may limit one or the other, but I struggle to see where they'll shut down both. Bend but don't break against an elite offense typically leads to "break". Andy needs to be aggressive the ENTIRE game. Any let down, and I think we could be in trouble. And like this entire season, some help from the special teams/defense in the form of turnovers/TD's will certainly help as well. I expect a tight game. |
Optimistic
Worried Chiefs Fan |
I know one thing for sure - I'm damn glad I'm going to be at the game. I can already see the seeds being planted to blame the refs for anything that goes wrong on Sunday.
The GDT should be a hoot. |
pfffft, they are playing against a back up with 10 points off TO's.
not much of a challenge. |
this game does not make me scared of pitt. Miami has beaten themselves.
|
Why in the world are teams so enamored with Vance Joseph?
|
So when the Chiefs force turnovers, it's all their doing.
When another team does it, it's the other team beating themselves. Can't have it both ways, fellas. |

Yep. What has this game proven? That Leveon Bell and Antonio Brown are good? I didn't need this game to know that |
****ing hell. Once you daffodil smelling, Caramel Mocha Macchiato sipping, pants wetting candy asses realize two very important things -
1) Pittsburgh doesn't lose at home, especially in the playoffs and B) Miami has played maybe their worst game of their season today you will come to the conclusion that we are not automatically going to lose next week. Throw in the additional factoids that Benny Rape is not the same QB on the road as he is at home and how the Chiefs want a little payback of their own, our prospects look better and better. I like our chances.* *provided Andy keeps his foot on the pedal with both sides of the ball EDIT - AND Miami is down to their second and third string QB's here. Sack up, powder puffs. |

This be the defining game of Alex Smiths career.
|
We have GOT to attack this defense down field. Early and often. Their DBs suck balls and their LBs just sit underneath and tee off on receivers.
We can beat these guys downfield. We have to. |
I am glad it's Pittsburgh. We need to beat the best. It's "kill or be killed" time. We beat them and we can go all the way.

I will say this, though - this is his 12th season in the league and there are no excuses anymore. He needs to go out there and remove all doubt of who he is and what he can do, even if it is only his sixth playoff start. |
IMO, the Chiefs should be the first team to take a flag for a late hit. Hit them hard, late and often in the first 5 minutes. That way, if it's established by the refs that any late hits will be flagged, then you back off.
That's exactly what the Steelers did today and the Fins died a quick death after that hit to Moore. |
