[Q[/I]UOTE=Zebedee DuBois;16449058]The vitriol towards California is a little surprising

I can concede that, as California is the most populous state, it likely contains the highest number of a-holes. However, Texas - as the second most populous state - is surely giving Cali a run for its money.

I'm sure both states have some very fine people.[/QUOTE]

You've clearly never listened to modern country music. Every third song has at least one line that says "Cahhhhliiforrrnia" in a whiny nasally derogatory tone.

Bashing Cahhhhliiforrrnia is the 4th biggest theme - after pretty girls, cold beer, and guns.

That's because a large majority of beautiful women born in fly over country move out to the coasts. Any 8+ woman graduating from Lawson High School is bound to not stick around.

I've never understood that. Even if someone doesn't want to live in California with all of their sunshine and pretty places, you'd expect some recognition that it's a state that's willing to try innovation. Even if you prefer to be trailing edge, you want someone in your group to embrace innovation so that you can trail along if something works great. That's what California does in this country.

I mean biggest themes in country music songs. Pretty girl can be in red dress or cutoffs. Whiskey can be substituted for cold beer.

Heat hasn't appeared to be a problem at all.

cosmo20002 09-08-2022 07:35 PM

Any word yet on the body count of fans dying from heat stroke?

BryanBusby 09-08-2022 09:42 PM

The broadcast team mentioned the heat affected the teams in the 2nd half

Yeah, I think the Bills only scored 21 in the second half. Being a cold-climate team clearly put them at a distinct disadvantage in that heat.

Imagine spending 5 billion and claiming " we don't need an AC because it only gets really hot a few months out of the year" while building some shitty creek in front of the stadium. Hard to call yourself a state of the art facility when you don't even have a basic 20th century invention

I was there. It was hot and sweaty (kind of like this place) at kickoff but actually got a bit better once the sun went down.
