That song has sent thousands to seek mental help!

That charity is run by Hasidic Jews out of an industrial park in Lakewood NJ. Very unique.

Wishing Well - Terence Trent D'arby

Stuck in my head for three days once - nearly offed myself.

htismaqe 03-20-2023 12:27 PM

I wake up, and go to sleep, with music in my head.

Many times it's just a random song, sometimes it's ideas for original stuff. I still write on occasion.

My God, that would do it.

And thanks, asshole. :D

morphius 03-20-2023 12:38 PM

I have had a couple dreams where I "wake up" in that were playing Plowed by Sponge, which is pretty funny if you know the lyrics.

Luckily I have no idea who that is or what the song is. Don't even think I'd heard the name before. One of the benefits of being an old fart with his musical tastes stuck in the late 70s.

And NO, I won't investigate further.

FYI but Wishing Well went platinum in 1987. It's 36 years old. ;)

I apologize in advance - but F it.

And apparently, he is no longer Terrence Trent D'arby - but whatever that name is.

You suck

And songs bring back memories. Much like a smell will do so as well. Mine, stationed in Frankfurt when I first heard that song.

Pepe Silvia 03-21-2023 05:43 AM

I was watching Uncut Gems with Adam Sandler and I hadn’t heard this song by Madonna in years, now it’s been in my head for a week. Damn you Adam.

No, I usually just wake up horny and beat it. That might also be because it’s the only time of the day my dick is awake.

Frazod 03-21-2023 08:18 AM

This morning it was Deep In The Heart of Texas. I shit you not.

Seriously.....

Oh, yes! Sometimes its regulars, sometimes its songs I couldn't stand when they came out (60s/70s). Yellow Submarine of late. Celine Deon ballads from my 90s/00 spinning classes...anything, anytime.

KurtCobain 03-21-2023 10:20 AM

Yes, we are. I remember when I was the young guy saying this.

Time will catch you. And kick your ass.

I'm starting to get it.

But at least around here I'm still not that old.

Megatron96 03-22-2023 10:08 AM

Most of the time I don't remember my dreams when I wake up, but this morning I was humming this song:

One day at my former job I and an old bat coworker found an property deed in a file that dated back to 1912. Much of it was written in pen. I looked at it, then looked at her and asked "Is this your handwriting?" She was not amused, but I was. LMAO

At the time she was younger than I am now.

It happens all the time, but the problem is, I can’t read notes.

ToxSocks 03-23-2023 09:30 AM

Woke up with this in my head. No idea how or why. Haven't heard the song in months. Still in my head.

Yeah, waking up with a good song stuck in your head is cool. But it seems like the split between bad and good is about 90/10.

Agreed. Usually it's 'Balled of the Green Berets', 'Uptown Girl', 'Dancing Queen' or something equally as terrible. The Bee Gees are pretty notorious in my morning head as well.

It's funny, when I was a kid I was definitely part of the anti-disco crowd and loathed the Bee Gees, but as I've gotten older I don't mind them so much. Of course, compared to most of the shit that's out there now, disco is high art.

But still, I don't look forward to the next time I wake up with Stayin Alive playing in the twisted chasms of my mind. Which will probably be tomorrow after posting this. :grr:

There's a song I never get tired of. Especially when it's applicable. :thumb:

You just got to take those old songs in different directions...

Allanis Morissette “isn’t it ironic” every morning for about a week now. Or, basically since I first saw this thread. Which, considering the song title, is pretty meta.
