Well then, what if the Chiefs kept all of 'em?

Call me stupid (you wouldn't be the first), but who says Printers initially has to play, or even be listed at, QB? What about some kind of "Slash" Stewart role for him? You know, the guy Kordell was before he became a bad pocket passer, and a bitch.

Has Printers got the kind of athleticism to do that? Would Herm and Solari be willing use that roster spot and cook up some inventive stuff to take advantage? Maybe one of the few people in the U.S. who has actually seen Printers play pro ball could comment on his athletic ability...

Hell, I don't know, just throwing it out there.

This is definitely true about the Chargers. Was this post ever addressed? Where did this "you can only keep 3" idea come from? I've never heard of a limit to how many QBs you can keep.

Green, Huard, Croyle...that's my guess...

Call me reckless, but I would like to see the Chiefs go with Printers and Croyle as the backup QBs. A move with an eye to the future.

Bold.

Daring.

Does not sound really like Edwards, does it?

Fully expects Huard to be #2 come time to play.

It was the CFL. So, he was from the Canadian league, but didn't actually play in Canada.

Others to that have played for the CFL and then the Chiefs were Vaughn Booker and some dude named Trent Green.

No, it wasn't addressed and I still haven't found where it's against the rules to have 4 QBs. It just isn't done much because it leaves you short elsewhere.

I'm worried we lose Croyle because we kept Printers and he turns out to be the next Ted White.

No way we're stupid enough to try and put Croyle on the practice squad.

excellent

So, in the last 5 years, he has thrown 1 more pass in an NFL game than Croyle............and a heck of a lot less than Printers if you count Printers' non NFL pro experiences

There is a reason Huard was number 3 behind the best clip board holder in the history of the NFL........He is no freaking good.

Let's keep three and send Huard packing.......he isn't even trade bait

I just don't see any way THIS coaching staff, in all of it's Martyness, goes into the season with Green and two rookies. They just won't do it. It's like asking a straight guy to kiss a man.

Pats fans chime in:

Quote:

He's pretty good. How old is he now? I'd like to see him back with the Patriots.

It's not like we can really tell you much about the guy, because he only threw a few passes in regular season games.

FWIW, he did get a couple of quarters in preseason games and looked mostly good.

I'd say he is a good guy, competent game manager, and has a real mediocre arm. Nothing exciting, but he usually doesn't beat himself taking stupid chances.

What I can tell you is that he tore it up against the Pats in a game in Foxboro way back when after coming off the bench. Marino was beat up (Huard took a beating in that game as well) and the Pats looked like they were going to route the Fins. Then this kid Huard pretty much singlehandedly beat the Pats.

It was one of the more disappointing games I have been to at Foxboro. And I was also disappointed when he left NE after serving as Brady's backup a couple years back.

But he's so far removed from regular playing time, it's hard to say what you would get from him if he had to take over at QB. Still, I would not be upset if he was here in NE competing with Matt Cassell for the #2 job.

I believed this when he was on our roster and I continue to hold this belief.
To add to what what my fellow Pats fans have stated here, I would also like to say this:
There was a time at Training Camp a few years ago, when they were running the two minute drill and I was SURE that it was Brady running it. --Only to be surprised by the fact, that it was actually Huard running it...
I know that is only an anectdotal commentary, but I hope that it helps to confirm the other things that my fellow fans have stated here.
Huard knew our offense, inside and out and could have "managed" it, very well, if God forbid--Brady had gone down.
Personally, I think that he could quite possibly be, the best back-up QB in the NFL and definitely was the best back-up that we have had, since Brady has taken the helm...
