Alright, I just spent a portion of my morning rummaging through this interesting thread. Here are my takes, FWIW:
- Nice to see the Planet visited by the media (even if it is Whitlock...lol)
- Jason, you used to be my favorite writer in KC. You were the only "No" man in a sea of "Yes" men writers during the King Carl days. I thank you for liberating us from Carl and Herm. That said, your schtick has now worn thin. You need a new one. Somehow, even Gretz has surpassed you for Chiefs enlightenment.
- Comparison to Gretz #2; how come Bob puts out 3 articles per day and you can only muster that many per month? Just sayin'.
- You guys can argue our run defense if you like, but MJD was stuffed for most of the day. I was stoked (especially since I played against him in FF) that he only had 66 yds and no TDs late in the 4th qtr.
- I love Haley but he has too much on his plate. He needs an OC to tell him to go for it on 4th and short. And to run up the gut on 3rd and short.
- For those of you Bowe lovers wondering why we don't look his way, try watching how (un)open he is from up in the stands. He makes a lot of circus catches because he's covered while making them. There's a reason why Cassel is looking other places (and why Haley keeps acquiring players).
- Pluses from Sunday; our D line had its best game of the year, our running game looked far superior to the LJ attack.
- Negatives from Sunday; Haley's 3rd/4th and short play calling, dump off passes galore, dropped/whiffed passes, big plays given up from defensive secondary, abandoning the run. (Again, needing an OC or someone to help point out to Todd what the actual stats are. I think he's so used to the running game not working, he automatically abandoned it).
- Bottom line, we should all be ecstatic that we look this bad right now. In a long term plan, who cares about progress this year? This entire season is simply one long preseason. We're just trying out players to see who we'll keep for next season. I'd be more scared if we were making progress with guys we don't really want.
