Carson has barely scratched the Al Saunders playbook... and he looks more in control of that offense than any QB since Gannon, he barks out audibles and directs traffic... Knows how to throw a screen and can find the open man..

If this team does not win another game this season, as long as they beat the Chiefs atleast by 28 points I will be happy... I hope the Chiefs wait until that game to try Stanzi out too.

Look dude, if you're wanting to be serious here, Carson is a solid QB still, but he isn't a top QB in the league anymore. I don't know if he ever truly was. He does give you more of a shot than Boller...or Campbell for that matter.

Hopefully Carson takes you guys a long way with what your team gave up for him. Anything less than playoff success (and not just making it because the AFC West is this years NFC West) will be a failure.

Well, they did the right thing for Orton... give him a shot at catching on with another team, possibly one that is making a playoff push. Good for both of them.

"Hey look! We don't need to draft a QB after all. Just think what Orton could do with a full offseason here!"

He can go back to Chicago or sign with Houston. I don't see any reason at all for the Chiefs to sign him. Not that you said differently, just chiming in.

That has about the same probability of happening as the FO actually drafting a QB in the 1st round.

Well, he won't likely have a choice unless he clears waivers and at this point, there's no way that he will. I could see any one of 10 teams placing a claim, especially a few that are in the playoff hunt.

Houston already said that they aren't putting in a claim for him.

Picking up Orton is the very definition of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Mile High Mania 11-22-2011 06:48 PM

Yeah, the interesting scenario is Chicago bringing him back... you have that history and a trip for the Bears in 3 weeks to Mile High. Talk about a revenge factor.

lcarus 11-22-2011 06:56 PM

The Chiefs should not take any interest in Kyle Orton. For our situation, the obvious strategy is to play Stanzi at some point this season, draft someone, then let Stanzi and the drafted QB battle it out in camp. Unless the QB we draft is a 1st round pick. Then we'd basically have to start him over Stanzi.

Mile High Mania 11-22-2011 06:57 PM

The Chiefs (honestly) have nothing to gain by bringing him in at this point... there's really only a few teams where it makes sense.

Orton only makes sense for Chicago: they need a QB, and he knows the system.
