Orton is in the last year of his contract

This is just adding a body at QB because all we have is a journeyman who has never played and a rookie who has never played.

btw so much for Haley not having any influence. This Orton claim doesn't happen without Haley being on board.

So assuming he reports... when does he take his first snap?

Not for at least 1 game if not two which really begs the point of WTF did you sign him with 4-5 games left to play and absolutely no shot at winning anything?

Other than that, I just don't see them drafting a QB in the first round.

Like I said, I didn't either.

But I could at least hope and not feel like I was being totally unrealistic.

They just picked up Kyle freaking Orton. It's obvious what this FO is looking for in a QB now.

The hope is gone...

I know, Orton>Palmer

This team is so smart

Shit sandwich with or without crust? Take your pick.

Orton vs Palmer.

Who is the shit sandwich with crust depends on the given year. Go look at their career numbers.

They are going to kill Stanzi if the win two meaningless games?

Gotta agree with that. It's a "job saver" move if there ever was one.

They're not mathematically eliminated. It's only us "fair weather" fans that think they have no shot at winning anything...

You won't get anything for him because he will be a FA

Ultra Peanut 11-23-2011 04:26 PM

Oh yea, as I said, it is a good pickup unless you all sign him beyond this year

Yes, Ricky Stanzi is a quality developmental prospect.

SenselessChiefsFan 11-23-2011 04:29 PM

I am glad the Chiefs got him. I think it will give Chiefs fans a good indication of what Cassel is.

See, I think that Cassel is better than Orton. I know that many on here disagree.

I think it will be interesting to see how Orton does with the same talent.

R8RFAN 11-23-2011 04:29 PM

I seriously don't understand how this can't be the best move for the Chiefs unless you like being blown out every week...

Hell face it, You all know you are not good enough to beat many more teams this year but you also don't want to totally make the rest of the team not give a shit anymore either.

Oh this ought to be good. Everybody made note of this post.

Orton is light years better than Cassel. You can just see it in how he throws the ball.
