… in that case, sex on drugs is terrible.
You’re better off dragging your ass on a cheese grater.

A coworker of mine tried unsuccessfully for 2 years to get pregnant with her husband. She said the doctors told them it couldn’t really be explained as to why they couldn’t conceive naturally in that timeframe, but she admitted that her husband does smoke weed and there was a notable difference in speed count and quality after he quit.

Purely anecdotal and I can’t even verify as I never saw results, but take from that what you will.

Now that this thread has run its course, it is interesting to note the results.

It’s not surprising that the big three are tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis. They’re the only options that are legal (for the most part).

More than half of the respondents having tried cocaine is a true shock to me, as is over 25% having smoke meth at least once.

I feel like we’ve got a pretty wide range of types of drugs as well. Doesn’t seem like CP discriminates. We like uppers, downers, and hallucinogens.

On noting that the vast majority of the drugs listed are illegal to use recreationally in any form, I do find it extremely interesting how little that seems to matter for such a large part of the population. It almost seems like chasing an altered state of mind is a very human behavior at its core, especially when you consider I left off shit like caffeine, which is probably even more widely used than anything listed.

I mentioned earlier, but there was a debate in DC that sparked my curiosity on this subject. There were some mentions of the idea that all drugs should be legalized, which is usually a pretty hotly debated topic. Part of me thinks a grown ass adult should be able to decide what they put in their own body. Another part of me knows a hell of a lot of people would ruin their ****ing lives lol

Drugs don't ruin people's lives. They do what they do. You decide to steal from mom, rob the gas station, or hide in a basement smoking crack.

People should have the freedom to live their own lives. We should concentrate on helping with the negatives in society instead of removing free will. Making something illegal just means you give someone the power to ruin your life for disagreeing with them.

That's the definition of vulgar...

I don't want to speak to my sordid youthful past. But I do a lot of Immodium now.

I used to in favor of legalizing all drugs. Then I saw some friends get addicted to meth and that changed my mind.

I would be in favor of legalizing more drugs. But I think some drugs are just too addictive for too many people.

If we lived in a more wonkish society, we could custom design drugs that could potentially do less harm.

I remember reading years ago in a science magazine that an alternative to alcohol could probably be designed that did less liver damage and maybe even had less of a hangover effect. But would have a similar mental effect.

But instead of being grandfathered in as natural beverage, you would have to get it approved as a pharmaceutical.

Good luck getting anybody to fund the research/trials for that one.

And then it would probably only be available by prescription for some eye watering cost per month...

I do find it hilarious that it's 2023 and people still demonize marijuana while they throw back another shot like a ****ing hypocrite.

As to legalizing all drugs....I don't think you can. Even if you did, it wouldn't eliminate people who made their own...or killed people over them. I think there are drugs that should be tested for medical purposes like Oregon is doing with Psilocybin and treating mental health disorders.

Just like people who put half this stuff their body , without really knowing or caring about health concerns demonizing vaccines , it is what it is .

I don’t think legalization is the answer , smoking ,alcohol kills more people yearly than opiates/meth,cocaine combined , hell second hand smoke alone kills more people a year than opiates.

Yeah there’s a lot of anecdotal evidence out there that it does lower sperm count. I was just taking it to the extreme, you know, for the sake of irony. 😂

Katipan 04-30-2023 12:43 PM

I bet a high percentage of the 80 coke whores would say no to legalization.
And I haven’t even voted yet 😉
