Not true.

The deal is usually worked out through the agent first. Once everything is tentatively agreed upon, the university is contacted. At this point, it's nothing more than a formality because the coach is usually gone.

It's pretty clear that the agent's playing both sides. Hell, he's the guy quoted in that ESPN article from 6:30 tonight saying they were close to an extension with Mizzou.
