Is it going to be freefall Monday? Oil is down $3.18 to $83.70 already this morning.

when was the last time it was this low? and what was the gas price then?

InChiefsHeaven 08-08-2011 08:06 AM

So this is a result of our now shitty credit rating, is that correct? That's one thing I had heard that might be causing this. Un-intended benefit of a shitty credit rating?

February 2011.

Gas was ~$3.10/gallon.

Sort of. Today's drop is the result of the downgrade, but it's more to do with the overall state of our economy and the potential of a more significant drop in our demand for crude as a result.

I would think that the downgrade would weaken the dollar more, which should lead to an increase in crude pricing, but i haven't looked at the dollar today yet.

Gas in northern Missouri over the weekend: $3.52
Gas in eastern Iowa over the weekend: $3.53
Gas in Naperville, Illinois: $3.89

And Naperville is far cheaper than many surrounding areas, especially anything in Crook-I mean Cook, County and specifically Chicago.

We are getting raped up here, and all the ****s who run our various local governments keep saying is that they're broke. 4321

Yeah, but you get that great California weather, close to the beach and ocean, and...

Oh, wait.

I have no idea. This has almost nothing to do with the fundamentals. But, I'll take a wild guess: $60.00

So, except for the fact that we should see some lower prices at the pump, this seems like not such a good thing...A drastic change in prices like that usually means something a bit more sinister on the horizon, no?
