Sneed is great, no knocks against him, but if you give me a choice between Sneed or Bolton, its Bolton every day of the week and the youth of our secondary last year alone shows you why Sneed is replaceable compared to Bolton.

It's not Sneed vs. Bolton, it's Sneed vs. Gay. Both are in the last year of their contracts. Bolton's contract runs through 2024.

I don't see them cutting him. If anything they just wait till after June 1st to trade him. Will be the same Cap savings and a team might be more willing to pony up a pick if a injury or something happens.

Cards could just sit on this for awhile.

No it's based in reality, he's already broken the franchise record for tackles.

Bolton - 180 Combined Tackles - 72 Assisted - 2 sacks - 2 INT

Sneed - 108 Combined Tackles - 33 Assisted - 3.5 sacks - 3 INT

The lockdown corner, days of Revis island aren't as prevalent anymore. In today's NFL everyone gets beat on passes. You're going to give up yards you just have to make sure you don't give up the big play. Hence why we could slot Williams, Cook and McDuffie into a Super Bowl winning defense. Bolton is always around the ball, and his 72 combined tackles more overshadow the only 1 extra INT a CB has for the year over a LB and only 1.5 sacks more as well. I wish we could keep them both, but I'd bet money Gay is gone, Sneed is gone, Bolton stays for a second contract when it comes time to pull that trigger. Bolton made the defensive play of the game in the Super Bowl against the Eagles that helped us stay in the game before halftime. Also now Sneed has a concussion and hip issues he's dealt with this last year where Bolton has been a beacon of consistency for his first two years in the league. I have no allegiances to MU, I have allegiances to game breakers who will be in the ring of honor one day, Bolton will go into the ring before Sneed does.

It always comes down to cash man. People always talk about chasing a ring but it's normally dollars that do the talking.

Yeah, just like last year when he "lost sleep" over a complete rebuild of the defensive backfield (almost exclusively through the draft) and the WR position.
