I liked the trade too, although not as much as most people. I liked Melky more than most of you guys, but I was still excited about the potential of Sanchez. I thought the trade was a good deal for both teams at the time, but obviously the Giants won.

Yep, they did. Dayton's overall record for ML trades isn't good at all, but, like I said, I can't hang this one on him too much.

Detroit is 23-27 so we are only 1.5 back of them which is the most important thing IMO. Cleveland has lost Hafner to knee surgery for 4-6 weeks so they ought to fall back significantly. Chicago going on this winning streak is a bit disappointing but hopefully that won't last. Considering we had a 12 game losing streak things aren't as bad as they could be.

Couple this with Perez and Cain coming back. I am liking our chances, however I am fearing the annual June Swoon...

There is definitely reason for hope. On the other hand, ther pucker factor created by our rotation isn't good.

I've heard Splitt go off on radio like this before. it had to be 04 just a shit year. (I can't believe that shitty year was 9 years ago) Someone threw at us and we threw back and we got thrown out even the hit batters were 1 to 1. Splitt was like "That is what happens when umpires don't understand the game. I actually think our player was thrown out for throwing a breaking ball.
