Question: I just bought a Taurus PT1911 and took it out shooting last night. ****ing thing was all over the target. Now, I'm not the greatest shot in the world, but I've shot the 1911 before (rented it from the range) and had great success with it. I love the gun, but I can't believe how erratic it shoots. Kentucky windage made no difference. Is this common with a new gun? I was advised to take it apart and clean the shit out of it before shooting it, which I did. Maybe I didn't do a good enough job of cleaning it?
At any rate, before I even try to adjust the sites, I figured I'd ask about it from the resident gun experts here on CP. |

Ammo can have a profound affect on accuracy. If you left a lot of oil in the barrel that can affect accuracy. You might just have a shit barrel. |
