A completely different direction:

Not much wheel at all; not sure if I could ever talk myself into it but there's something intriguing about those black accents. I'd pretty much have to swap out rotors/calipers if I went that route.

Nosir; have it in a tab but haven't made my way through them yet.

What's your wheel budget? Maximum size?

Probably 19s in the back, 18s in the front.

I'd like to stay under $1,000 on wheels presuming another $1,000 in tires though I'm realistic enough to know that I'll probably end up around $1,500 for a decent set. A $500 difference is pretty irrelevant when you're talking something that has a theoretically indefinite shelf life.

Those are my favorite so far

Got the oil changed over lunch today and asked the guy at the desk if they had a catalogue. He said they did but that he used to be a rep for a company when he was in Las Vegas and worked extensively with a company that he could get wholesale on.

Wrote the name on a card....sure enough, MHT. Right where I'd been dinking around in the morning. He says he's done some custom wheels and such. My mechanic is a shade-tree mechanic that does great work (slowly) and has re-build a shitload of classics so I love the guy, but he's also an "I know a guy" kind of dude that wants me to talk to his buddy about wheels because he's a wheel dealer or something. I think I'll just stick with Plaza Tire and their guy because if he can get me that price from MHT, I know they'll back things if they don't fit, etc...

Nice, im also an MHT dealer (among other wheel companies), so if you're ever curious about a price etc holla at me.

Will do. I tend to try to work local when possible but Plaza ain't exactly a mom and pop. I'll probably give these guys a first run at it but what's really important is that they're willing to do the kind of stuff it sounds like you're willing to do - get down in there, measure shit and know what fits, not just base stuff off a spec sheet.

If I feel like they're half-assing things, you'll be the first to know.

That configurator thing is slick as hell.

Looks like more of a Euro style wheel.

Chrome wheels are ugly as hell.

Yeah, that was what I was going for on that particular option; it doesn't really fit the car. The ones I've seen that use those well are the ones that were built with the flush-mount windows and things of that nature; essentially a modern 'fusion' on a classic car.

Mind doesn't do any of that - it's just a straight up American muscle car that looks mostly stock. They just don't fit the rest of the car terribly well.

I like that kind of wheel in theory, but on the car it just doesn't look right.

I really really really love these wheels but at $1300 each I dont know if I can pull the trigger. I may have to. Satin black center with a gloss black lip.

Here's a few that are completely different from the other 2 that I've really liked. I'm intrigued but they're risky.

Not sure that dished look works for this car; too modern. Would look fantastic on an M3 but just doesn't play well with an old chevy.

Isn't yours kindof a matte black car? That polished lip is a neat flourish on the satin center.
