Now Lamar wants DHop too?

chiefzilla1501 04-15-2023 05:14 PM

With veachs history don’t rule out big moves after the draft. Which makes sense not just because we have a better sense of what we can get, but because other teams start to unload their guys too.

Maybe that’s to change DHop picks to 2024. Maybe it’s to wait and see what other WRs become available. Or maybe they have some other move in mind. I still can’t imagine we don’t have other big moves in mind and also that we don’t extend Chris jones at some point which gives us space for more moves

Lamar wouldn't know how to use DHop because Lamar does not have an NFL mind let alone NFL arm.

Who’s in a better spot with cap space?

Wisconsin_Chief 04-16-2023 10:43 AM

Diggs is already disgruntled, there aren’t enough targets for him, D-Hop and Davis, not to mention the amount of cap dollars.

I don’t think they can make it work, and I’m pretty sure they already said they were out on him as well.

Us and the Bills have almost the same amount

Respectfully disagree. Hopkins is arguably a top 10 WR, and inarguably a top 15 WR.

JuJu was a high-end WR2. Gordon was a bottom of the roster bum.

Hopkins price tag will be high, so what you pay for would be short term production.

For this to happen:
1 - Hopkins needs to be released.
2 - Veach needs to extend/restructure. CJ is the obvious candidate.
3 - Hopkins cap number and contract have to be digestible. If OBJ's contract with Baltimore is the floor for Hopkins new deal, then we are likely out.

Hopkins isn't a top 10-15 WR. That's outlandish. If he was, then teams wouldn't have a problem trading a 2nd and taking on the cap hit, because that'd be really cheap for an elite receiver.

I'm willing to bet someone $100 that he doesn't even get to 700 yards next year.

Again - disagree. He’s definitely at least a top 15 WR.

The reason teams aren’t trading for him is a combination of 3 variables:
- Contract price
- Draft compensation
- Age

His talent isnt in question. The risk/price of trading for him is.
