Yeah, i dont get why people dont see that Orlando's new GM Is from OKC. He wants to build the Magic the way OKC built their team. ALL from the draft. Suck so bad, for 2-3 years and get top 5's in the first 2 years, then possibly a top 10-15 in the 3rd year and bam, they have a nice young team that they can keep for a while.

As much as it sucks for the Magic fans, this is the reality of what the front office wants to do.

And they will likely fail at doing so.

Whats the going rate on that not happening? Durant, Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka aren't falling in their laps. Orlando is run by idiots.

ITS A HUGE ****ing gamble, but they didnt want to be stick in mediocrity either. Its hard to pull off what another organization did. THey have to get kind of lucky. The dude is a 33 year old GM, he's swinging for the fences and if it works, he's a freaking genious, if it dont. He's got alot of years to try again, even if its with another organization.

It cant be worse then Otis Smith and what he did. lol

If this fails what owner is going to hand his team over to the moron who traded Dwight Howard for jack and shit?

Someone will. He will get a job somewhere. They always do, the good ole boy network. It may not be in a year or even 4, but his ass will work somewhere. Its just the way it is. I am not saying i agree with it, but this is the reality and this is what they are going to do like it or not.

Thats exactly why I'm sure it's going to fail. A lot of things had to go right for OKC to be in the position they're in. Those same things cannot be replicated by Orlando.

I guess he'll resign with the Lakers

For a guy that everyone is speculating might leave LA this summer to sign a long term deal with the largest bidder, he sure doesn’t act like it. Dwight Howard apparently just bought a $20M mansion in Los Angeles this week. And he paid for it with a personal check! Damn, that must be nice, right?

Rest easy Lake Show, doesn’t look like Superman is going anywhere, anytime soon…

So, Dwight Howard just purchased a home in LA, for nearly $20M……and wrote a check for the house. #Boss #Lakers

This is the best way to build a team. Its really hard to succeed in the NBA by being consistently mediocre, because there's a huge talent gap between the first few picks and the 10-20 picks. Its risky for the GM and you run the risk of alienating fans after a few losing seasons, but if you aren't at the top, then its better for a team to be at the very bottom. Orlando wants a chance at drafting a superstar talent.

When was the last time the Lakers had a top 10 pick? Bynum was their only top 10 pick in like the last 20 years.
