You could well be correct, Mr. Clint in Wichita.

Nor will it be deemed hypocritical to insult a stranger's intelligence or knowledge while calling on the name of Christ, apparently.

I don't think Ghandi was. edit: I just looked it up, and he was... /edit

Their ideas were revolutionary, though. That is the glory of their non-violence, as that is what made the difference.

What do you say his mission was?

To teach people to be pacifists and thrust their cheeks outward to be struck upon both sides?

Yep, that was the sole mission of Jesus Christ, to have people who need justification for their sinful acts to remember but one line of his entire ministry, "judge not, lest ye be judged".

Sorry, but I am going to be judged. I am judged every day by my peers, customers, friends, family.

That is how it is. I, therefore, refuse to handcuff myself to some liberal nonsensical box that you would all have us be put into.

I kill my enemy before he kills me. Then live to preach the good news, Hallelujah, AMEN!

If you aren't a Christian, then I'm not going to ask you to follow this line of thought based on Jesus. You can do with your life what you will.... but I'm called to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Jesus was nonviolent. There is no argument about that.

Man, this idea of me being a Dad Damn hippie is getting way outta hand. Wake up and read what I said, not what you want me to have said. Good Dad, some of you folks are dense. You guys are just as bad as those you claim put too much faith in the inerrent Word too. I was misquoted. Numerous times. And you wouldn't be pleased how they misquoted me, either.

OK, you choose to die in glory then. Me, I'll choose to try and live with a good defense. Hell even my girl takes some martial arts and lifts weights and shoots guns. It's actually a lot of fun.

So do you own a gun or not?

Jilly 06-21-2006 04:17 PM

when did Jesus say if someone tries to kill you, you should kill them first???

What is the army of angels and hell for then?

I don't know until you give me book, chapter, and verse where you find that.... I am serious, though, did Jesus EVER say - if someone tries to kill you, you should kill them first? And more importantly, if we are to follow in Jesus' footsteps, when did he ever practice that mentality??

Research the Hebrew context of turn-the-other-cheek; it is an instruction that one should turn the other cheek so as to prepare to defend yourself against the unjust agression of others.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg, in terms of the twisted understanding some of you folks have of what I said. Sheeesh.
