Greinke isn't being traded because of financial concerns. You're aware of this? Or do you not believe it?

actually, forget diamond, looking elsewhere the scouts are not impressed and he's not a legit prospect. So, I only have those two names for you, a pitcher and a shortstop, plus who the hell knows what else.

Though, looking at baseball prospectus, the Nats apparently have a 5-star outfield prospect and a 5-star catching prospect. We all know about Bryce Harper, I doubt he'll be traded, so forget him. The catcher is Derek Norris.

Norris, C drafted out of high school. Three years so far in the minors, he's not being rushed. He'll probably be ready for AA next year. avg is a bit low, but this guy is a walking fool, extremely high OBP relative to his AVG. Little bit of power but again he's young, so who knows. Based on the primitive catching stats, his defense looks fine, only 6 PB all season last year, and he threw out 51% of runners, so if his bat doesn't fade he'll likely stick at catcher.

First Dye, then Damon, then Beltran, now Greinke, up next is probably Soria...and it won't too long before Alex Gordon gets going (possibly) and once that starts you can kiss him goodbye too. And if Moosetacos ever comes and becomes a good player, he's going to leave too.

This is the same ongoing shit we've seen for years. It doesn't matter who the GM is, who our manager is.....Glass runs the ****in show.....if he doesn't wanna pay one of our good players or he starts to outplay his current contract he will immediately look to trade him for some minor league prosepcts. Then once they get good (if they get good) it will be the same deal with them. They'll get traded.

I dont know why people continue to think the Royals will ever be competitive in this modern day league. They even play in the worst division in baseball and will still play for at best 3rd place in the division.

How many times are you going to post this? We know how you feel and really don't care to hear it again. Are you really this attention deprived?

CaliforniaChief 12-13-2010 01:47 PM

Based on what I'm reading, I don't think the Nationals have what I would want in a Greinke deal. *shrugs*

You are misinformed. We have plenty of money to pay him, Greinke doesn't want to be here. We wont be good until 2013 probably, and he doesn't want to wait.

Probably safe to claim that he's off our radar, then.

Royals trade thier best players because they don't want to play on this scum filled franchise most notible for being the worst losing team of the past few decades.

I think you're right. Their two best young players - Strasburg and Harper - are completely untouchable. They also have two young pitchers that are top five in their system but cannot be traded until June due to the one year rule.

Personally I've never considered Washington as a potential because I just don't think they have the ammo.

welcome to last decade, you are welcome to come back in 3 years. There wont be much to see until 2012.

Espinosa, Norris, and a couple other 2nd-tier prospects would be close enough to think about it. I'm liking that Norris kid's stats, he looks like a solid defensive catcher, and he excels in the most important offensive stat (OBP).

DeezNutz 12-13-2010 01:57 PM

The link that Kev provided includes a very glowing report on Espinosa.

Are you that gullible? I am just a casual Royals fan and I have heard every year how close we are and that was like 10 years ago. Until we get a new owner we are the Clippers of MLB

We don't need to rely on words or marketing.

There is empirical evidence to prove that things are different now. We have an outstandingly good farm system. Perhaps an historically good system, in fact.

What do you think a new owner will do? Spend like the Yankees? The key for small market teams is to build a strong farm system and develop your own prospects (see Tampa, Minnesota), which is exactly what KC is doing.

It's really annoying to hear people like you who obviously don't have a clue about the current state of the Royals come in and crap all over the thread with the same ignorant nonsense.
