I don't think Matt will since the SEC doesn't allow double transfers, IIRC. Dunno about Flip. |
do we even have a chance at getting otto now that CMA is gone? or will it be possible for the MU COACHotf to catch up recruiting hm?

It takes years to build a good CFB program. In basketball, you can rebuild a school that isn't hit with sanctions in two-three years. Ultimately, the extent of the rebuild will be based upon a few things:
1) Whether or not we can get Porter 2) Whether or not we can keep Pressey 3) How good Kadeem Green ends up being 4) How much of the 2012-3 talent we can pull in It wouldn't surprise me to see Porter go to Georgetown, Pressey to transfer, and Green to be like Kelly Thames after his injury. It is Missouri, after all. |
That's why I want Martin.
I think Martin can keep Flip here and continue the recruiting drive for Porter. Something to consider W/R/T Pressey and Anderson is the fact that Arkansas already had a very good recruiting class next season. They are bringing in several scholarship players. That could deter Porter from following Anderson and at least make Pressey think twice about sitting out a year. I dunno, ultimately I think we keep Pressey. I certainly think we keep him if we steal Cuonzo. |

A) Great recruiter. Painter ain't shit without Cuonzo's players. B) Great defensive mind: take a look at the top national players against Cuonzo when he played at Purdue. Same applies W/R/T his coaching philosophy C) Short-term considerations. Porter, brothers Pressey, etc. I think he keeps some semblance of a class together. Quality guy who could call Missouri home for a long, long time. |
Why could Martin keep Pressey and Porter here?

Looking at the schedule it appears that Arkansas comes to Rupp Arena next year to play Kentucky. Maybe I can score a ticket to the game and enjoy watching Anderson get his butt beaten here.

Two. The Big East advanced 2 teams to the Sweet 16. And that was only because Big East teams played each other in the round of 32. Had those 4 teams played non Big East teams, I could see them putting nobody through. The Big East was stunningly overrated this year. Remember that in the future - hive mind ****s college basketball up. It was completely inexcusable that the Big East got so much love and kept some very good teams out of the tourney this year. |

And yeah, he's a black guy. It's not supposed to matter, but when you're going into these guys homes and trying to relate to their families, etc...; it's a big deal. Especially when you're trying to maintain continuity and Anderson has a little bit of that cliched, 'southern' black guy to him (afterall, consider his mentor). If you switch from him to a Rick Barnes type, that's a major major change in your leadership style. If Pressey/Porter liked Anderson, they're going to like someone similar to him. Having listened to Martin on the radio a bunch of times on 810, he has a lot of similarities to Anderson. |
English sounds wayyy smarter than most players I know.

Otto Porter, a 6-8 senior forward from Scott County Central High in Sikeston, Mo., tells Rivals.com he is planning on visiting KU and Georgetown. |

SLTH's (they kept it close vs KU, they must be good) with a "never happen" (Stevens) and a guy who will retire before he leaves for MU.(Tubbs). MU would be better off snatching a recruiter like Josh Pastner. Mark Fox. Pffft. You could find a hundred of those. |
And you can find a hundred coaches better than Josh Pastner. Also, he wouldn't leave Recruiting Heaven (aka, Memphis, TN) to come to Mizzou.
