Got back from watching the Omaha game in Des Moines. Omaha trailed almost the whole game, down by one in the 9th. Moose barely missed a 3-run homer, instead doubling in the tying run. After an intentional walk, Kila eventually was up with the bases loaded where he, obviously, took pitches and walked in the game-winning run.
I only saw two games, which isn't nearly enough to judge Moose's defense. He didn't get an opportunity for any extremely difficult plays, but he speared three hard-hit line drives hit off to his side (no dive needed). Hopefully all those errors were just an early bad run or something. |
Billy Butler has an OBP of .400...4th in the AL!!! ZOMG HE SUCKS!! FAT!! FAT!! I'M A MAN AND I'M 40!

I'd still rather just pay an aging superstar to hit like teams did with Thome and Vlad the last few years. |
Looks like we can put this rumor to bed.
Jayson Stark - the guy who originally started the Soria for Montero rumor - now admits that NY never offered up Montero. What a pathetic excuse for a journalist. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/column...e=MLBHeadlines Quote:

But I'm not bitter. :thumb: |
Stark is outstanding. If he missed one, he's earned it.

He now sprinkles in an article one year later a "whoopsy", without even implying that he did anything wrong. Yeah, that is pathetic. |

At least include the full Stark quote:
"And would they have been willing to discuss a Montero-for-Soria trade on both occasions? Executives all over the game are convinced they would." |
