At least the Tigers lost twice today!

I wonder if Morales would agree to that mutual option right now. I would hate to lose his bat next year.

Alex Gordon is such a turd. His AB in the 7th was the worst one of the season and had he just advanced the runner in the 9th, we tie

Why do I keep seeing lorenzo cain's name on the trade rumors lists?

The Rangers are interested in a reunion with Royals right-hander Edinson Volquez, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports. Volquez actually started against Texas today, holding the Rangers to one run over six innings to earn a no-decision in what ended up as a 2-1 Rangers victory. As Grant noted, “the entire Rangers inner circle of front office personnel was on hand to see” Volquez pitch.

Regarding Hos, I love the guy and will forever be thankful for his clutch hits in the postseason, but there are a lot of reasons why you don't pay him 20 mil a year.. Much less 200m overall.
He's never put together a complete offensive season. His numbers have been solid, but for his talent and athleticism he should be performing above his career output. Honestly he's never put together a substantially better year than his rookie campaign, and there's a few reasons for that. One of the central reasons is beautifully illustrated by his performance since June, where Hos now tries to pull absolutely everything. The result has been countless two hoppers to first and second base. His swing is too long to pull the ball on a consistent basis, but like every year he seems to fall into a two month rabbit hole where he tries to pull the ball anyway. If he wants to pull the ball he needs to change his swing, something he's refused to do throughout his career. Scott Boras has been pimping Hos' defense as the reason he deserves a massive contract. However, this season especially has exposed Hos' weak range at first. Too many ground balls make it through first and second base and have through his career. Hos has made up for this with his exceptional ability to scoop the ball, but as he ages it's reasonable to expect this ability to decline. TL;DR: Anything significantly above Brandon Belt's 6/79 would be a mistake, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Rangers or the Dodgers to give him a stupid contract. If Hos is focused on boosting his numbers, the Rangers would be a smart match. |
