Makes my offer equivalent to a 4th & 7th [CEH].

Cooks was traded for a 5th & 6th.

That's not too far off, but I agree that pretty much no one wants CEH at this point.

But one of those guys is Kadarious Toney. Despite his abilities, he's NEVER proven he can stay healthy. Until he can even go a half season, let alone a full one, we should be planning on him missing games.

I'm old enough to remember the same thing being said about Travis Kelce.

I get it but its a small sample size to this point, 2 seasons.

2 seasons isn't a small sample size

Ok interesting question.

Say Veach and his staff have Carter #1 on their board and think he will be an annual all pro player.

Would you be in favor of Veach using Jones to trade up to get Carter? Again, Veach thinks Carter could be as good as Jones.

No

Not the same thing though.

Kelce missed a season with microfracture surgery, pretty sure that's the single thing he had.

And honestly a surgical fix a lot of times is better than a dude who can't stop pulling muscles.

Clyde is not trade bait. Nobody wants Clyde. He's not a significant part of any deal. Stop already.

You might get a 7th for him. It's nothing. Guy can't stay healthy. He has no trade value, and no elite skillset to project from.

Doesn’t hurt to try though.

Yup. Toney’s play style contributes to his injuries meaning that could be an ongoing issue throughout his career.

Exactly.

A catastrophic injury can often be "fixed" by surgery. Sure, they might suffer a decline in athleticism afterwards but overall, the injury is "gone" after surgery.

Nagging tissue injuries are a way different thing. If surgery is replacing bad drywall with new, then Toney's problem is that they keep patching the holes in hopes that the wall holds together.

It may be a small sample size but it's the only sample we have. There's really nothing yet that suggest the guy can stay healthy - no empirical evidence at least.

So all we have at this point is hope.

Those 2 are not even a close comparison injury wise

Veach is going to trade the 2nd pick and maybe a 4th/5th pick, get ARI to eat a little of that salary for Deandre. Only thing that really makes any sense when you look at our WR room, and how weak the WR class will be available to KC in this draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly "bracing" for the possibility of losing wide receiver Mecole Hardman this offseason in free agency, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, while running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has some interest around the league.

Per that report, "Some teams have [Edwards-Helaire] on their radar as a potential trade option, though I don't believe Kansas City is actively shopping him."

When the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, they were hoping they'd found their running back of the future. Instead, CEH hasn't lived up to the hype during his first three seasons and is widely regarded as a bust.

Thankfully for the Chiefs, they may not be stuck with him for much longer, as several teams are reportedly interested in trading for him this offseason.

NFL insider Ari Meirov came to this conclusion too during a recent article with The 33rd Team, calling “CEH” an “under-the-radar” trade candidate in 2023.
