|
Oh man I am going to be in everyones dog house. I forgot to PM Pestilence when I made my pick this morning.
I just did PM him. I apologize. I was in a hurry because I was late leaving the house. |
Alright, I'm back now and can make my picks. Thanks for covering, OldSchool!

The Arizona Cardinals select Mike Davis, WR, Texas.

The Packers look to continue to build up and improve their Defense with this pick. Green Bay selects....Daniel McCullers, DT, Tennessee. His strength is in stopping the run. The Packers need help in that area, as their rush defense broke down in the second half of last season. Green Bay finished 25th in the league in stopping the run. The Packers need players who specialize in stopping the run, especially on early downs and short yardage situations. McCullers can help out in that area.

The Eagles select:
Jackson Jeffcoat, DE/OLB Texas http://static.foxsports.com/content/...013765_0_0.JPG More passrush! Hook 'em |
Dang. Wanted Jeffcoat, but this guy is a nice consolation prize.
The Cincinnati Bengals select Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia |
With the 124th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select:
Anthony Johnson, defensive tackle, Louisiana State. Nabbing Kony Ealy in the draft is only a part of the solution to the Chiefs' defensive struggles by getting a stand up rusher to spell Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. Dontari Poe became a bartop name last season as a disruptive force on the defensive line. But Poe could use some assistance from a fellow trench warrior in the rotation, and Anthony Johnson provides that. He's comparable in size to incumbent defensive end Mike DeVito but has wowed evaluators with his speed. He probably won't dislodge DeVito or the winner of the battle between newcomer Vance Walker and Allen Bailey as a starter for the opposite end spot, but should find playing time by virtue of his speed to close in on ballcarriers or the quarterback quickly after taking a snap. |
With the 125th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers select:
Chris Smith, OLB/DE, Arkansas http://media.arkansasonline.com/img/...469802b2560d37 The Chargers are badly in need of some help at the OLB position. Freeney is over the hill and Ingram is an unknown at this point with his injury. Smith may be on the shorter side for a starting OLB but he has exceptionally long arms at 34 1/8" long. Taking Chris Smith, who was missused in Arkansas' scheme as a contain guy instead of being allowed to attack the QB, gives them some much needed help in the pass rush department. |

The New Orleans Saints select: Tajh Boyd QB Clemson The Saints need a backup Qb and choose the versatile Boyd to fill the role. For some reason Boyd is falling in the draft and is a great pick at this point. |

The Cleveland Browns Select: Jordan Tripp OLB/MLB Montana Great talent at this point in the draft can play OLB or ILB versatile adds to his strengths. Great developmental player who can eventually be a starter. |
With the 128th pick the Carolina Panthers select:
Josh Huff WR Oregon http://dailyemerald.com/wp-content/u...essee.0949.jpg |
With the 129th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select:
Rashaad Reynolds, CB, Oregon State http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/R...g1dfPdPlql.jpg The 49ers continue to re-tool their secondary by adding Rashaad Reynolds to the mix in order to field a defensive backfield that could truly compliment their dominant front 7. |
So we have had our first 12 hour no pick.
