Per Andy Mccullough
Rival executives say the Royals are pushing hard for Cueto, but I wonder at some point if the OF needs will trump desire for another SP. |
Why not Eibner? Royals think he is AAAA player?
|
Try to get Bruce and Cueto? Royals are also interested in Parra and Upton.
|
Get ready for Jeff Francoeur. At least that's the rumor I just heard as their stopgap until Alex returns. Sorry, no link it was being discussed on Sirius.
|
Parra would be perfect. You insert him in RF and you have the best outfield of all time. Remind you he has won a gold glove before

Of course Francis isn't some exciting pickup. But they need a body I guess. I'm not sure what he offers that's an upgrade to everyone's favorite Brazilian?
I know some are geeked with the idea of Upton, but he's a huge gamble on all potential and giving up a lot more. It's just a tenuous situation when you can only get guys that don't have huge deals going forward, Mondesi is virtually untouchable, and you have a limited number of prospects to offer because there are very few scenarios where trading someone already on the roster will balance out to much of an upgrade. Obviously, Infante or Rios, but who wants them! |
Never even thought about Francoeur. Sad as it is, he'd probably be an upgrade over Rios right now. You give him playing time and he'll pop 10-15 HRs and people will respect his arm in RF.

Ned is clearly missing the blowjobs from Frenchy. He'd love him back.
|
Okay, enough of Francour. He's as bad as Rios is, and I don't want that clown back on this team. He's replacement level as Rios is.
Move on. As much as I'd like a starting pitcher, the draconian black hole in RF is a glaring obvious need. |
