We drive my car most of the time instead.

I just paid my car off last month. It doesn't get horrible mileage, but replacing it with a smaller, more efficient model would be stupid for me, since the added expense of monthly car payments would far outweigh any gas savings.

I think I'll just hold on to my old car for a while.

For me the silver lining in the clouds is that it will help get a new president in office instead of the under qualified bum thats in there now.

The president has nothing to do with gas prices. People who believe he does should not be allowed to vote.

I wouldn't say that POTUS has nothing to do with gas prices, but POTUS has a lot less effect than many people believe he does.

Just stopping in for my daily routine of flipping Donger's avatar the bird.

That felt good.

Isn't that a fairly large amount? What's your take on this? Do you think it's long term, since gas doesn't appear to be going down anytime soon?

InChiefsHeaven 04-02-2012 10:44 AM

To me, this proves that it doesn't matter how little we consume, gas prices are going to go up due to world demand. It seems we should be exploiting every resource we have...

Yes, it is. Our demand has been declining for a few years though. Unfortunately, it is up globally, so it won't have the same impact as it would have ten years ago.

Do you think oil is a renewable resource? Is it never ending, or will it all be gone one day?

No, it will be gone one day.

So that said, why not hang on to ours until it's all that's left? We can afford it, clearly. Why not wait and see if they can afford it when there is nothing left?

Honest question. I'm pretty dumb to this stuff, and am curious where someone with some intelligence on the matter stands.
