But if they ate $7-$9 million or so, that would give us Dhop for basically the same money that we're paying MVS, which would be a ridiculous steal for KC. And we wouldn't even have to play MVS as a starter.

Put Toney, DHop in as your starters, then it doesn't even really matter if Skyy blows up or not. Just between Toney and DHop you're probably getting 2,400-2,600 yards and 15-18 TDs combined. Assuming that Toney would be able to play 15+ games in that scenario.

If Toney can't stay healthy, no problem, MVS comes in and plays his role, and Skyy is fine as long as he can basically double his yards (500) and get 4-6 TDs, and then any combination of one of the Ross boys (I have no faith that both will suit up every week) and Richie James and/or whichever rook WR we draft can produce the moderate amount of production we'd need if Toney has the gimps next season and/or Skyy doesn't develop as perfectly as we'd need/like.

Bottom line, we're not hoping that two or three WRs that don't have any real proven success to become actual starting caliber WRs with no safety net.

How about $9M plus we send them MVS to save another $7M.

Of course, that has nothing to do with FA or drafted WR's

Looks like just one game.

I think he's going to be more productive. 600 yards, 4-5 TDs at a guess. He'll definitely be on the field more often, in 2-minute/hurry-up situations where he was largely absent last season, so he'll have more opportunities to be targeted at least. Really my hope is that he's able to run more pro routes as opposed to paper routes. Basically, routes that he can just win as opposed to having to scheme him open via gadget plays or screens. If he makes those positive steps, he'll fill those stat lines pretty well.

We could, but I doubt it's on the table. What I read is that Veach might restructure MVS' contract, not trade him.

It's all blue-skying, but hypothetically I wouldn't shed any tears if they traded MVS. I doubt he tips the scales significantly either way.

I think as a rookie, he was buried under vets, and he'll have a much more pronounced role this year. Now, whether he produces, will remain to be seen.

It's all on him.

Worthy of conversation.

Eh. Early on he simply ran a lot of bad routes. or paper routes. That first INT he ran it more as an over, instead of breaking it tight behind the LB, which allowed the DB to make a play when the ball arrived. The second one he didn't understand that he needed to slow/stop in the soft spot and his route carried him right into the defender.

Basically he needs to learn the difference between paper routes and NFL routes, and he needs to learn how to find the soft spots in zone coverage.

Somewhere in there he has to learn how to beat press, but Andy can help with that simply by putting him in the slot more often than not.

But yeah, I think he'll be better in 2023. But I'm not betting he'll just figure everything out and be a 1,000 yard WR in 2023. It's just not that easy.

Lol, okay, let's do that. Though what does Gibbs do that Pacheco can't? Not familiar.

I'm wondering if C Jones already has an extension in place hence his "I'll be a Chief for life" tweet and his recruiting of Hopkins. He knows we can't pay Hopkins unless he has an extension done.

Maybe we get a 1, 2, 3 combo tomorrow night?

1. Chris Jones extension announced
2. Hopkins trade completed
3. Trade up for RB Gibbs or DE Murphy

He's potentially the next RB to convert to WR like Tyeek Hill, legit 4.3 speed but much more likely to play a dual role like Antonio Gibson. His pro comp is Kamara, kid would be incredible in KC!

Ah, now it makes sense. What's Gibbs first name? Want to look up some info.

So is the hop to Baltimore not almost a done deal?

Lol, I caught that the second/third time I heard it. CJ recruiting DHop would seem to indicate that CJ's extension is already schemed out, doesn't it? That would be pretty exciting if it worked out that way. i might get all the way to fully erect!!!

No clue. Someone posted that the originator of that 'DHop to BAL' twit wasn't a trustworthy source.
