You called?

Dayton Moore’s off-season has been a disaster so far

Whit was hitting .176/.228/.243 in the last month so ROFL at anyone that thinks he still belongs. He had a great start, but the league adjusted and he hasn't. May as well see what Omar is doing if those are the numbers we're looking for.

#Royals lineup vs. Skaggs:

Escobar SS
Cuthbert 3B
Hosmer 1B
Morales DH
Perez C
Gordon LF
Orlando CF
Eibner RF
Mondesi 2B
Gee P

Quick call up for Mondesi.....I like it

What do we have to lose at this point? Maybe the kid's got it.

That's super aggressive for Mondesi. I'm scared by his K rate but everything else is positive. He has made some nice strides with taking walks this year, so hopefully that carries over.

Don't be surprised if his first few weeks are really good as his natural abilities carry him until pitchers adjust.

Expect his D and base running/speed to be major pluses.

Do you think this is more to get him ready for 2017 when they plan to make a push?

So with Fielder out for the year and SP being a need, Volquez+Morales+Hoch? could easily fetch some premium return from Texas. It fits too well not to happen, right?

Seriously, can he be much worse at the plate than Gordon who is barely keeping his head above Mendoza?

If I was DM, I'd be sitting down with Volquez and seeing what it'd take to keep him here for 3 years. We need decent starting pitching and he's definitely above average (especially on our staff). Of course, if someone's gonna give us a haul for him, you'd have to listen. But, sounds like he'd like to stay in KC, so maybe a quick deal could be done???

I would just say, "We would be happy to have you back after you exercise your player option next year."

Meh. Dayton's biggest failure was starting the year with Medlen and Young in the rotation. We absolutely needed more off-season help than just Kennedy. someone besides Kennedy.

fixed your post

Yup, that'd be even better, but I can't imagine Volquez being THAT generous. Methinks he'd at least want a 3 yr deal?
