Stafford I can see

But I can't actually believe people would rather have Alex Smith over Kaep, Cam Newton, or Matt Ryan

That is just absurd

If your sole reason for wanting Smith is that he won't make mistakes then you fundamentally disagree with the notion of drafting and developing a qb

Going through the growing pains to get a playmaker

Whatever OTWP, who's ACTUALLY being embarrassed here is anyones bet, dude... we won 9-11 WHILE HE LEARNED A BRAND NEW SYSTEM ON A BRAND NEW TEAM AND EVERYONE ELSE HE WAS PLAYING WITH WAS LEARNING AS WELL.

But no, lets don't count all of those first year hurdles, that mfer should've stepped right in and threw for 4000 and 35 TD's minimum, amirite?... he played it safe! *cry and wipe boogers* why didn't he just kick ass right away?

Have fun this year, if you can bear it... goodnight.

Yet I'd take Kaepernick in a ****ing heartbeat. Or Matt Stafford. Or Matt Ryan. Or Russell Wilson. Or Cam Newton.

All QB's this fanbase has gone out of their way to bash for some reason or another.

My mantra hasn't changed in the almost nine years I've been here - draft a QB early, and if you whiff, draft another one early until you hit paydirt.

I'm not the impatient one when it comes to young QB's. It's you jackholes that spend every waking moment here defending a guy who has shown 6 games of decent play (and it's not just Alex, the same folks said the same things about Cassel) while criticizing talented young QB's around the league.

If you people think Kaepernick is garbage, YOU'RE the folks that won't be pleased unless we draft the next Brady.

Quit projecting.

If the Raiders had made the same moves that we did for Alex Smith everybody would pointing and laughing their ass off.

Please do. The answers from these random people are the definitive proof we are on the edge of our seats waiting for.

The Patriots went through this whole thing of pure extension v. re-worked deal with added years with Deion Branch back in the 2005-2006 offseason. Like it or not, there is a difference, and it does matter.

And this doesn't change the fact that you admitted you couldn't prove your claim and then insisted you had. LMAO

BigMeatballDave 06-05-2014 06:57 PM

It doesn't take a ****ing genious to figure out that a big reason for last season's turnaround was far less turnovers. Smith played a huge role there. Early on, there weren't many big plays by Smith. Largely because he was protecting the ball. The other is the offense, as a whole was still learning.

And **** anyone who says this is just more excuses.

**** you in your gaping, bleeding vaginas.

Because we're going to have to draft the test tube baby they create from that DNA - and maybe, just maybe then - this place will respect young, talented QB's.

25-26 year old ascending players with a massive amount of potential are cut down around here because *gasp* - they may not have become HOF'ers in their 2nd or 3rd ****ing season.

Meanwhile, every near-30 slapdick QB we deal valuable picks for, this place will defend to the ****ing death, make excuses for until their fingers bleed and declare jihad on anyone that suggests said slapdick was carried by the defense for 9 games, or disappeared in the second half of a playoff game.

While I agree that people are writing off Kaepernick too soon, the 13 points the Chiefs scored in that second half is as many as the 49ers scored in any half during their 3 game run.

The double standards don't stop there.

"First year hurdles" is an excuse for a 30 year old QB, but there are no excuses for guys in their first or second year. Should be the other way around, and why no mater how much people say it, they want no part of drafting and developing a QB.

Smith has a 4-6 year head start on some of these guys, and he's held to LESS of a standard than the younger guys.

Only on CP.

I guess we're going to just sweep the 35 points a game he led the offense to in the previous year's playoffs under the rug - which just happened to be the 8th, 9th and 10th starts of his career - including damn near coming back from a four score 2nd half deficit in the Super Bowl?

Then again, I can understand why you wouldn't want to discuss those three games.

You mean like you decided to sweep a 31 point first half under the rug? LMAO

Also, I wasn't sweping anything of Kaepernick under the rug. I agreed with you that it was too soon to be writing him off. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of your position with the 13 second half points supposedly being Smith disappearing.

If you want to compare 30 minutes of a wild card game by a 30 year old veteran to three full games in the playoffs by a guy making his 8th, 9th and 10th starts, be my guest.

But you look foolish doing so.

I'll give you this - at least you don't run from an argument you're losing like some others around here.

I wish I could thank you for that last sentence, but I'm not losing any argument. You're trying to invent an argument I'm not having. I'm not bagging on Kaepernick. I'm not saying Smith is the answer for the Chiefs.

You're trying to compare Kaepernick 2012 to Smith 2013. I never made that comparison. I just pointed to points scored in the the 2013 postseasons to show that your gripe about Smith supposedly disappearing was hypocritical (It's also inaccurate, given that 13 points in a half is a 26 ppg average). And before you point to opposing defenses, take a good look at where the Packers ranked.

Seriously, you've got to get past the QB thing. You have great takes on a lot of other things. When it comes to the QB spot, though, you suck ass through a straw.
