I don't think he expected them to wait so long to snap it. If they had snapped it earlier there would have been plenty of time to call timeout.

He didn't plan that play to leave 1 second on the clock. The postgame interview pretty much indicated he wasn't completely aware of the clock situation at the very end. If they had waited one second later and that ball had been knocked down, there would've been no time left and LSU would've lost.
