It's a real simple answer, Smoking and Non-Smoking bars. I'm a casual smoker, smoke when I drink person. But I understand when you enter a bar smoking is part of the package as well as beligerant drunks. But simply post a sign out front "This is a Smoking Establishment." The "freedom loving", beer drinking, chicken finger, and pizza eaters can eat at their Sports Bars and the wine drinking, quiche, eating crowd can eat at their Sports Bistros.

If you only had some idea what a facist is, that would be less pathetic. Hate on brother, hate on!!

To cure the problem, grab a Skoal Fine Cut, and a spitter.

No, we can't do that. You see, that would be reasonable. Reason is not allowed. Reason is bad for you! Because, there is a chance, however remote, that no matter where your bar is, Laz might one day wander in for a beer, catch a whiff of cigarette smoke, and instantly die.

The funny part is, they never actually THINK they're fascists.

They of all places passed a Smoking Ban in Las Vegas, but was not for the Health or Children as the Ban supports declare. It is against bars in Neighborhoods, any bar serving food could not have smoking so alot of bar put up a wall and there is a true "smoking" and non smoking sectionswith correct ventalation. It was worth the cost as alot of bars were losing their patrons to the big Casinos. As was the plan all along, How can a Casino have multiple restaurants and bars serving food but smoking as allowed throughout the property but smaller bars can't. The ban went into effect last year and alot of establishments just pay the fine and keep it as is. On a more outragous note, you can call the Health department and report a smoker, the police won't respond and what owner is going to kick out a money spending patron. All you had to do is not spark up, util after 6pm when the Health Dept closed, no one to respond. A gentleman paid the smoking fine when busted a $200 fine, and gave the court $1000 and said that was for the othe rcigrettes he planned to smoke in the future. I often think I love this country and the liberties in "used" to offer me.

Yeah, I knew what it meant. I like to personally apply it those who would impose their will upon others, especially people they'll never meet or interact with, for no good reason other than enforcing their will.

How strangers live their lives is not my business.

You want to have an abortion? I personally wouldn't do it, but if you want to, it has no bearing on my existence, so do what you want.

You don't want to wear a seatbeat? Fine. It's your life. Why should I care?

You don't want to wear a helmet? Go for it. Your call.

You want to to smoke someplace I don't go? Fine. I won't go there. There are other places. Or perhaps I'll go there and deal with it.

Some people believe as I do.

Some people are honestchieffan.

I was at Nick and Jake's last night and there where about 15 people all cuddled up smoking away on the sidewalk. That shit aint cute when it's cold out.

I am a big fan of the ban because you can actually go out and have a couple of drinks with the guys after work at a nice place without leave smelling like a chimney when you get home. When you've got a GF to come home to it's nice not geting the the The Grand Inquisition about it or in my case not inviting her. She really doesn't care what I generally do, and loves going out with me, but it's nice to not even have to have the conversation and the jokingly all night guilt trip of not inviting her (even though we all know they would 't go anyway). She's great though, some of my friends have to keep it like a "State Secret" if they go out without telling their wives or girlfriend's. I don't know how they put up with that.

I feel bad for the bar owners, and I'm sure it sucks for smokers, but I think it's a good deal for the general pulic. I saw a thing on the news the other night where bar owners where getting interviewed. They said they've seen a big increase in families coming in the evening that use to avoid it because of the smoke. Maybe that will balance it out for the bar owners. Regardless though the people that smoke will still go to the bars. If I smoked ban or no ban I'd still go outside just out of respect for the people around me. I just think it's rude as hell to watch a smoker just let his cigarette sit right in the face of somebody sitting next to them. Sitting at a blackjack table is the worst. I use to smoke when I'd be drinking when I was younger, but always tried to be respectful of the people around me.

So what parts of KC have smoking bans now? Is it just Johnson County or is Jackson County also doing it? Are bars/clubs included or is it just restaurants?
