I expect Matthews to get at least 170 yards on the ground and another 50 in the air. Gates will probably shred and grab at least one TD.

I don't think the score will even be close.

Yes, yes you are.

LMAO I was looking for that. He was just a tick off.

He predicted the Raiders would run for 300 last year in wk 2 and was only off by about 220.

I agree that drafting specifically for need is short-sighted. The argument for taking a Cody or a Clausen was not based upon need. It was based upon seeing those players as the best talents on the board + the best positional value on the board. Need happened to overlap, creating a perfect storm of opportunity.

What the Chiefs chose to do was markedly improve team speed. There's something to be said for the strategy; it certainly paid dividends last night. The question (and the reason why people disapproved of the '10 draft) is whether Dex and Javi - classic complimentary pieces - can still compliment the team over the next few seasons.

That said, IF the D-Line continues to play like they did last night and IF Derrick Johnson can continue to be the disruptive force that he was last night (and, obv, re-signed) then Dex and Javi look a lot less like luxury picks.

Hell I actually like Dane now that I don't take him too personally. I am sure the feeling is not mutual. :D

And just who are these "Drafturbators" that said the draft was "shitty"?

I think we agree here. I'm acting on the assumption that the FO didn't like Clausen or Cody as players. To draft them just because we need a QB and NT would have been short-term thinking.

My dream draft would have been Berry, Cody, Clausen for the reasons you mentioned. If the FO don't like them, they made decisions in the best long-term interest of the team.
Its hard for me to fault them for adding that kind of speed. Those rookies were as good as I've ever seen a draft class be right out of the gate. What did we have, something like 6 players with a real impact in that game?

Seriously? After the Berry pick almost everything was questioned except Asamoah.

I won $1500 imaginary dollars in the gambling challenge thread by betting on the Chiefs.
