Can't say I agree with Hootie. Honestly, the issue should have been consulted with the boss/owner and give the recommendation(s) on how to address the issue, then be done with it. The boss/owner then will make the decision, of his/her company, either to respond to the CEO/Owner of a big firm of something about the issue, or make adjustments to his/her resturant.

For example, if the firm people wants to check out a table for a party, then that's fine. It should be the resturant's responsibility to let THEM know that the table hold/wait time is 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on the boss' decision, before they make the reservations.

Just my opinion.

Calling your opinion "common sense" is hardly a trump card.

He's right. And that's coming from someone who doesn't ever agree with Metro on anything ever.

What the ****? I argued about it with you just as much, if not more. GIVE ME MY RECOGNITION!

That's so weird. I find myself agreeing with you a lot on many issues. I see you as one of the few voices of reason. Maybe I'm confused.

I should have known somebody already did it. I wonder if Hootie will end up like American Hero? LMAO

Eh, I guess the argument over Elin's divorce settlement is still fresh in my mind.

It is what it is. I know I had a big ol' argument with you about something, I have no idea what it was though.

Eesh, that would be crossing the line.

The dude deserves to be fired on his own.

The American Hero nonsense was way way way out of bounds. Meatwhistle's probably my least favorite poster in the history of the internet, but I'd never even consider that kind of craziness.

I understand your point, but the service industry is different in that the boss/owner isn't the only one who pays the employee. When employees work for tips, getting stiffed is similar to getting screwed out of a paycheck.

Mosbonian 10-06-2010 04:48 PM

Seriously....somewhere there's probably a memo going around the company advising all employees to be cognizant of normal business practices when tipping and having a large contingent.

There's probably a secondary "private" memo placing this particular establishment on the list of restaurants to avoid when booking a large dinner for the company.

Agreed.
