Exactly. Because it's easier to move down from the #14 pick and get a couple of 6th's in return. Because the 6th round is where you get franchise QBs.

Now you are thinking like a Chiefs GM.

Wow so pathetic.
I am now fully on the fire pioli, Haley wagon. Sign me up Hamas and otwp. I want to jointhe hate all things chiefs now.

This is a.complete joke.

I'm trying desperately to see why everyone's so upset about this move.

Cassel? Out for the year.

Palko? Has had only 1 regular season start in a four year career.

Ricky Stanzi, for all the hope we've heaved upon his shoulders...
1. Was unable to benefit from a full off-season program.
2. Has been inactive most of the season.
3. Was a mid-round pick who most thought to be a project anyway.

I'm really trying to understand how Orton complicates anything.
The FO knows now whether they were planning to draft a QB early come April. Either they'll proceed with that plan...or they never had that intention to begin with.

We'd rather tank the season and reerun the growth of players like Baldwin, Asamoah and Hudson on the chance that MAYBE Pioli has a guy like Griffin on his radar?

I don't get it. Help me understand.

All the haters don't get it. It's called rent, not buy. Look at the draft pick, not the direct acquisition. Cobblepot didn't **** up this opportunity.

Yeah I don't see any downside to this.

If anything this makes Cassel expendable. You can and should still draft your QB next year.

I'm on the RG3 bandwagon and he's not going to high to where it's impossible we miss out on him should Kyle lead us to a couple wins. He'll be there when we pick. So we're fine.

All you're doing is getting a solid QB in for the trash we have now.

DUDE, me too. But this is CP and, yes, the sky is falling.

This is ridiculous.

I am fine with the fire Haley sentiment... but Pioli has done a good job. Not great, but good.... and seems to be getting better.

Considering the difference in number of picks and draft position, the 2011 draft was better than the 2010 draft.

And, the 2010 and 2011 drafts were light years ahead of 2009.

Orton gives them the best chance to win right now.

And, the GM should always be about winning as many games as possible.

Too bad they IR'd Cassel. He could have started the playoff games after Orton wins the division.

gblowfish 11-23-2011 05:10 PM

ESPN is talking about it now. They think the Chiefs got a deal. Orton is Cassel, except with a stronger arm and he's better at reading the field. His first start may be against Chicago, who also put in a claim for him.

It also says they know Palko sucks it.

Yes!

And Matt could have given us another 9 for 18 for 70 yards & 3 INTs just like he did in his last playoff game. :p

And if Orton comes in and looks average....it will prove to them that Cassel ****ing sucks dick.

Orton is nothing more than a stop gap....if that.
