The argument is that you can't replace forty players in three off-seasons, one with the lame-duck scouting staff.

A lame duck scouting staff coming off a monster draft in '08. Thus, the staff received this moniker because of Pioli's own, sorry but it's true, egotism that he, the vaunted Executive of the Decade, could do things better.

And he brought us Cassel. That's Pioli's level of intelligence.

I'm thinking Pioli's ego is gonna set us back farther than Petersons incompetence. Unless he drafts a QB in this years draft early, he can GTFO.

Yeah that was a bit arrogant of Pioli. Which QB's were on the board at 3rd overall and which ones were worth at least a top 10 pick? Spending a 3rd for a top ten isn't too bad. At least you don't end up with a just a kicker after drafting 7 guys.

This is awesome on so many levels:

1) It saves draft position
2) It shows that Haley actually thinks that the Chiefs offense requires more than five minutes to learn
3) It makes absolutely no sense, as the Chiefs aren't going to use a player whose services they paid a fair amount for. Meanwhile, they spend almost nothing on key areas of depth and make no moves to ever attempt to add depth.

You wonder if these clowns have any idea what they are doing.

Haley will coach Palko up. He's a great coach.

I love it when the horsemen hit a thread.

Sure, he botched the Cassel bit, but who should have gotten instead over that timeframe? I am inclined to say, given the available options, Cassel wasn't really that bad of a choice.

The 2008 draft was a great draft.
Dorsey, Albert, Flowers, Charles, and Carr

But 2011 looks like it could be as promising from what we've seen.
Baldwin, Hudson, Houston, Bailey are all contributing ALREADY
The jury is out on the rest, but Brown, Stanzi and Powe all appear to be possible difference makers down the line. Miller, who really knows.

And you can hardly discount the 2010 draft. Berry is critical, as this season demonstrated. Arenas is a plus nickel-back and return man, which is certainly worth a second round pick. Asamoah and Lewis are solid. Moeaki will be great if he can stay healthy. Who knows about Sheffield.

O.city 11-30-2011 09:24 PM

It's actually genious what Haley is doing. It will help the Chiefs in the long run.

He starts Palko, we lose, we draft RGIII or Barkley, = WE WIN.

KCUnited 11-30-2011 09:25 PM

I actually enjoyed Nick Wright's speculation that Haley, knowing his firing is imminent, is simply going rogue. Stubbornly starting Palko, going for it on every 4th down, onside kicking at the rare opportunity we luck into a score, 70 yard FG attempts, fighting a coach, shitting on a refs chest, etc.

Well he better start with some pushups. Get that NFL arm tuned up.

A legitimate concern, Mr. O.city.

It's sad when I think back to the day that the Pioli hire was announced. I was so happy back then. Like a child on Christmas morning. Like a zombie in a sauna. Like a tomato. Yep, that's it. I was happy as a tomato.

But now, all those happy thoughts are gone. Vanished. Eliminated. Sunk to the bottom of the sea of broken dreams.

Carl and Pioli. It's the same thing all over again.

Like a repost.

Screw the Patriot Way. The Clark's should have raided the Steelers assistant coaching staff.

O.city 11-30-2011 09:29 PM

If Pioli would do what his buddy Dimitrof did and draft a ****ing qb, i'll be fine with him. Hell i'll be happy with him.

So, you're cool with McDumbass?

Very amused at the amount of people viewing the Palko situation as the last straw for Haley. A lot of guys on this board who trash "true fans" are really coming off as true fans. What the **** does it matter if we beat the bears?

Has it occurred to no one that this season is lost, and that the Chiefs now have a fairly good opportunity to draft a top 10 qb? I think that occurred to Haley/Pioli.

Relax true fans.
