Despite Guthrie having over 100 pitches and Detroit managing 13 baserunners off of him through 7 innings (Guthrie was playing with fire all game). Ned incredibly decides to not turn to the league's best bullpen and trotted JGuts back out for the eighth in a tie game (which we just knotted up in the top of the inning).

If you are going to pinch hit Cain for Lough in the bottom of the 6th why wouldn't you put him in for D in the top of the inning? He is arguably the best defensive outfielder in baseball.
