The Franchise 04-25-2014 10:40 AM

My bad.....shit has been crazy. I'll get my pick in a second.

The Franchise 04-25-2014 10:42 AM

The New England Patriots select A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama

kccrow 04-25-2014 04:02 PM

The Broncos let Knowshon go in free agency, but Montee Ball looked like a good first option. They'll still need another back in their stable.

The Broncos select

Lache Seastrunk - RB - Baylor

So not to cause alarm or anything, but this mock needs to average about 9.5-10 picks per day in order to get done in time for the draft.

At the rate it's been moving, that's certainly possible. But it does need to keep moving.

OldSchool 04-25-2014 05:35 PM

Yup, it does. Added a position tracker.

The Seattle Seahawks select....Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh. Devin Street is thin at just barely 200 pounds, but he's 6-foot-3, which tells me he will fill out his body with an NFL training regiment. Street has solid hands, and he was Tom Savage's number one Receiver at Pittsburgh. A deep Wide Receiver class has hurt his draft stock a bit, but Street is still a talented player none the less. The Seahawks need to fill the void left by Golden Tate in Free Agency, and drafting Street would do just that.

I've been dipping hard into the defensive talent pool for Detroit in this draft and I'm going there again. Detroit's secondary was bad, yet again, and the only way to make it better is to keep drafting guys that can play.

The Detroit Lions select

Kenny Ladler - FS - Vanderbilt

The Baltimore Ravens select Antone Exum, CB, Virginia Tech.

I hate to pick a Direckshun player, but geez. He's the ideal player at this slot.

The Houston Texans select Zach Kerr, NT, Delaware

Time to give Detroit a bit more love on offense, but that player isn't going to come at WR. What many fail to see with Detroit is that they signed Golden Tate, who is a great #2 type option. Many also forget that Broyles was coming off an Achilles tear that ended his senior year at Oklahoma and that Broyles would have likely been a very early pick if not for that injury. The Lions aren't as bad off as people think at WR. Where they do lack is at the tight end position, where Pettigrew has been much of a disappointment. I don't think Detroit will get a player this year that can supplant Pettigrew as the #1 receiving TE, but they can certainly go and get a guy that will be a very solid #2 guy for a long time in the league.

That long-winded bullshit aside,

The Detroit Lions select

Arthur Lynch - TE - Georgia

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good pick. Broyles blew out one knee in college. He blew out the other knee as a rookie for the Lions. Last year, his second with the Lions, he blew out his Achilles. Three season ending injuries, three years in-a-row. Sure the Lions could use a third tight end behind Pettigrew and Fauria but not more than they could use a third WR who can stay on the field and make plays. If Golden's Taint and/or Megatron can't play things will get really ugly for the Lions passing attack. Count on Broyles at your own risk. Anything they get from him is a bonus at this point.

OldSchool 04-25-2014 09:09 PM

Yeah, Broyles is never going to reach his potential because of injuries. Stafford isn't good enough of a QB to win games with average to bellow average WRs.
