Their shot rests on how much Heyward liked it in St. Louis. Someone will offer more money.

The Cardinals are in the drivers seat. Unless you are trying to insinuate that Heyward would rather not be a Cardinal.

Make the qualifying offer, take the draft pick.

Just remembered the 3rd best team in baseball wont have homefield advantage in the CS after beating the #2 and #1 teams.

the Cards are in the driver's seat?

Sure. If they want to pay him $180M

do the Cards do that often? I hope he does ... he's a hell of a player, I like to see teams like the Cards get their guys back. I hate seeing the Dodgers get to swoop in, grab everyone, and then just delete their mistakes.

but if you think you're going to get some sort of sweetheart discount ... no

Prison Bitch 10-13-2015 07:16 PM

I doubt their GM believes Holliday can go a full season in the OF anymore. Just move Grichuk to CF.

I'm good with the Cards spending that kind of money. However, I think it's about time they lose their compensation pick for being a "small-market team" if they start doing it.

Cubs are going to land Price and some in the offseason and become a paper juggernaut

Not sure what that has to do with anything, but ok.

He may sign. We will give him the qualifying offer anyway. Last time we got Wacha and Piscotty by letting someone walk.

He wants to break the bank, thats not us.

Going to have to deal with a bunch of Cubs fans acting like a 16 year old with their first car.

I work in downtown Chicago. Go Mets or Dodgers. The city is going to be overwhelmed with idiot bandwagon Cubs fans.
