KU was down 20 to a top 5 team. Duke has been down to a team thats not even being considered for the NCAA tourney.

I'm just not sold on Duke at all.

The media loooooooooooooves Duke. If they win the ACC tournament they will be a #1 seed. Mizzou needs them to lose that tournament and they have to win the Big XII tournament for a #1 seed.

Actually, Mizzou probably needs UNC to get knocked out early, too. It's pretty unlikely that Mizzou gets a #1 seed at this point. If we win the conference tournament, I think we deserve it over Kansas, but I'm not sure if we'll get it.

That said, if Mizzou ends the season with only 4 losses and doesn't get a #1, it's bullshit.

Not necessarily. I think UK, SU, and UNC have the #1 seeds locked up. The only one I think up for grabs is KU's. If Mizzou wins the Big XII tournament they should leapfrog KU. That is pending on whether Duke wins the ACC tournamentr not because of the media's love for them.

That might be more impressive your non-con didn't look like shit. Try scheduling somebody.

Beating Notre Dame by 38 points when they still had their best player is a pretty damned good win. We also destroyed Cal and beat Villanova by double digits. Cal sucks, but they were ranked 18 when we played them. It wasn't really a scheduling issue.

O.city 03-04-2012 06:13 PM

I think the Big 12 champ and the ACC champ of each tourney likely gets the other two 1 seeds.

It will depend on some other things tho. I think with a few wins this week UNC locks up a 1. I think KU has to win the Big 12.

I'll admit I didn't follow it closely only heard that it was ranked in 200's in RPI or something.

This was the talking about before the Big 12 season started when Missouri fans were exciting about having a strong team.

Now we are debating them being a #1 seed.

Good times.

Much better than 40 minute of mild discomfort.

MU's noncon doesn't look as good with some of the teams they played ended up not being great.

That said, they played well during the conference season so we can put that to bed. I do think their RPI could hurt them when it comes to the 1 seed talk, but if they win the BIG 12 and beat KU twice, tough to see them not getting the last 1.

That would be a nice experiment to find out if the big 12 tournament championship even matters to seeding. Hasn't that been an issue in the past?

Saul Good 03-04-2012 06:35 PM

It would be interesting if Mizzou and Kansas were top two seeds in the same region, especially if it was STL.

I wouldn't be all that surprised to see a Big 12 tourney winning Missouri on the 2 line. I can't imagine they are jumping an ACC tourney winning Duke/UNC or B1G tourney winning OSU for a 1 seed.
