DeAndre Hopkins Cap Hit
Hopkins will carry a cap hit of $30,750,000 in 2023 and $26,215,000 in 2024. Additionally, he has a dead cap hit of $22,600,000 in 2023 and $11,300,000 in 2024.

It was reported this offseason that Hopkins’ suspension in 2022 voided the no-trade clause in his contract.

If traded, his cap hits for his new team would be $19.45 million in 2023 and $14.915 million in 2024.

No one knows how we can afford it. I've seen speculation that Chris Jones', Travis', and MVS' deals can all be restructured to come up with the needed $$$. But no one inside the organization has said anything like that is in the works.

But we do know that Veach can manipulate the cap like no other, so personally not concerned about the money. If we want him that bad, Veach will find a way to get the money. And we know that Veach has shown some interest in DHop.

He showed that he was very interested in getting AJ Brown last season, and look what he's getting. In fact, since Sammy's departure, Veach has made multiple attempts at replacing him with another top-30 prototypical WR, so my guess is that he has a solid plan on how to pay the guy by now. So how DHop gets paid isn't a huge concern for me at least. Veach knows what he's doing.

I mean the Rams paid $10M of Allen Robinson's $15M when he was traded to the Steelers.

So even if AZ paid $10M of his $19M PLUS we sent MVS to the Cards in the deal that would mean a net cap hit of only about $2M for 2023. Veach can find that in his sock drawer.

They'd probably want a better pick to cover that much money.

Cards get:
#31
#95
MVS-Saves us $7M
CEH-Saves us $2M
Plus pay $10M of the $19M for 2023

Chiefs get:
#34
Hopkins

This would mean Hopkins for 2023 would be almost no cap hit! Cards do need a RB and will need a WR with Hopkins gone. In draft picks they move up a few spots to gain that 5th year option from a 1st round pick AND a 3rd rounder.

WIN WIN WIN

We aren't trading MVS. Get over that.

It'll be a pick if anything

Probably 90% correct even if Veach should trade him if Hopkins is coming to town!

His $7M saved cap space is worth more than what he will bring to a Kelce, Hopkins, Toney, Skyy mainly focus pass game.

This sounds more like one of your ridiculous made up scenarios.

Is CP really this dumb? MVS is t going anywhere, in fact we wouldn’t even of made it to the Super Bowl if it wasn’t for MVS

Some are. I know I bring down the average IQ. People only like me because I'm easy. Like Lionel and Sunday morning. Would rather have had JuJu for the long term. But it made sense at the time. Hoping that MVS ups his game this year. He needs to contribute more than 2 TDs.

The ghost of Jerry Springer will have something to say about all this. Tune in next time

WIN WIN WIN

MVS has a dead cap hit of $10M if cut or traded.
