After the rather solid D play last night, it'll be interesting to see where the Jones talks go.

You have to trust guys to pull themselves out of the funk. It’s frustrating to watch as fans, but you just can’t ever get too high or low. We see Toney drop a pass that results in a pick-6 and immediately we’re all like “bench him now!” But the coaches can’t do that. Then his confidence is shaken, he’ll spend the next 10 days in his head, and the time you need him most, he’ll have built up even more pressure in his head which is likely to lead to a less-than-ideal outcome.

Mahomes will make bad reads and throw INTs. We always tell him to keep firing to work through the issue.

Few early PFF grades

McDuffie - 73.3 - only guy covering OK by their measure
FAU - 68.8 - second best guy on D - nice start
Tranquil - 68.8
Chenal - 68.4

After that on D it's liquid s*** - which seems unfair on a couple of guys. Nnadi was once again, unplayable bad - 39

For offense:

Rice - 80.7 - this is the upside, our best player from a small sample was the rook.
Mahomes - 80

Good news from that is the rookies immediately looking good, bad is OTs, WRs, and basically everyone else was complete pish.

What did they give Bolton and Danna? I thought those guys had decent games.

It would be hilariously sad if Jones or (especially) his agent thinks it matters at all.

It would be like asking for a raise, taking a week off, then going to the CEO because your backup didn't respond to a few emails while you were gone and asking, what about now?!?

No shit. Both of those guys played really well.

Broken record these days... "PFF is dogshit"

The Lions were #4 in offense last season and only scored 14 points on offense last night, even with 2 of KC’s best defensive players missing. Sure seems like Jones lost leverage. That game confirms Kelce is more important than him IMHO. Travis should be the one refusing to play until they give him Tyreek money.

Oof. Well, that's not ideal, especially considering the timely holding penalty.

Chiefs starting LT Donovan Smith had a game-high 15.6% pressure allowed rate in Week 1 vs Detroit.

The Chiefs former LT, Orlando Brown Jr, never surrendered that high of a pressure rate in a single game in a Chiefs uniform.

This is where context is needed bc I didn't see this at all. Donovan Smith was mostly invisible to me until the pressure where the guy got pushed to the ground and then held on to Mahomes leg as he threw it away. That and the penalty was it.

IMO this goes to something people to don't like to hear: Mahomes creates a lot of his own pressures by holding the ball too long. It's just who he is.

Jared Goff is now 2-0 against Mahomes and gets to go home to this instead of Brittney.

Props to the Lions, they earned that win. I hope they make the Super Bowl because I want some sweet revenge on that ass.

Bolton - 62.7 - though every individual metric was higher so a PFF WTF really
Danna - 57.9

I agree, I thought they played decently and don't really get those scores, although that made Bolton our 5th highest rated defensive player - they scored us really badly across the board tbh.

One thing that did show up that I thought I saw was our LBs actually were getting beaten over the middle and not covering that well. Including Tranquil, which surprised and slightly disappointed me. But I think we iron that out, and Gay had the lowest score. Not saying this because of this game but I reckon Gay is gone next year. Good athlete, has some stellar games, but still seems to read the game poorly.
