I guess we should have brought 78,000 fans and filled the entire stadium up, Lord knows its not ****ing KU's responsibility to bring fans to that game. What a dumb****.

If you don't think he was digging even bringing up Denmon/Mcgruder you weren't paying attention. This is how Keitzman works.

Or does Self not make your top 3?

Honestly...all three have done great jobs this year. I think you could put those coaches in any order and reasonably justify it.

MU and ISU exceeded all expectations. KU met high expectations.

I just am not making a connection between a vote for Hoiberg being an anti-Bill Self vote.

I, too, think all 3 make great cases too.

however, I'm pretty sure, if my memory serves me right -- KU was picked around 5th in the preseason big 12 polls.

So, there's the argument, that KU has exceeded expectations.

Mizzou voting for Hoiberg?

If that is true then that is taking butthurt to a new level.

bwahahaha

I know, right? I mean poor ol' Self only has 1 4-star recruit coming off the bench for him this season.

The narrative around this KU team has just become laughable. As though they're some squad full of plucky upstarts and scrubs; that only Bill Self could have seen and unlocked their potential. It's only the National player of the year surrounded by 4 and 5 star recruits that didn't play until this season. Your worst starter is probably Eli Johnson and he was only a 5-star and the #4 ranked PG in the country.

Your worst starter was literally a higher ranked player than anyone on Mizzou (save maybe Pressey) or anyone on Iowa State not named Royce White. And I'm supposed to fall all over myself to praise Bill Self for not letting them piss down their legs.

There are maybe 3 or 4 teams in all of CBB that have more raw talent on them than KU and I'm supposed to get all weepy for Bill Self because he doesn't have his usual roster that goes 7-deep with blue-chippers.

Cry me a ****ing river.

Maybe to the extremists out there, I see it as our guy got it and his guy didn't. How can that upset me? I guess its just a stupid way to try to get a rise out of people. Now much of the rest of this is a less veiled punch to the throat of MU fans, but that first point about denmon was just dumb.

KU and A&M were tied atop the Big 12 preseason coaches poll.

The coaches picked them 1st...

Team (First-place Votes) Points
1. Kansas (5) 73
Texas A&M (2) 73
3. Baylor (2) 63
4. Missouri (1) 61
5. Texas 51
6. Kansas State 39
7. Oklahoma State 33
8. Iowa State 27
9. Oklahoma 15
Texas Tech 15

Based on that, ISU is clearly the one team that really exceeded expectations.

KK's ratings have been in the toilet for a while now. He's always been a bit of a shit stirrer, but he's had to take it to a new level in the past year.

I'll admit that I was jealous of Nebraska last year and liked listening to KK bag on them, so maybe it works. The difference is that you can alienate the Nebraska fanbase and not lose many listeners in KC. I don't think that's true of Mizzou.

Its not like there's anything else interesting about his show. Smoke and Fire commercials, the Racing Boys, and soon to be bitching about putting up screens at Kaufman Stadium for 2 hours a day now that baseball season is around the corner.

I listen to 810 until 2:00 and switch to 610 (if I'm listening to the radio).

I'm not arguing that but he really tries hard to get both sides backs up. He is still going on about how KU-Kstate fans greatly outnumber MU grads in the KC area counting 3 Missouri and 2 Kansas counties.

Btw it's working 2 po'd Missouri callers back to back with more on the hook.

The only person who picked KU fifth was Jack Harry, and well, he is hardly an expert.

Yeah and the last 2 callers have taken him to task for using that metric.

Self recruited all those players, though. Then he developed them throughout the season on the way to winning the B12 by two entire games and being clearly the best team in the league. That's deserving of some recognition.

Then, that's what I remembered. Just had the number 5 picked in my head.

My bad.

nychief 03-05-2012 02:39 PM

KK is a complete moron.

Imon Yourside 03-05-2012 02:39 PM

KU fan calls in and agrees with KK, this is fun even with our non rival. :)
