It did have a "this team won't be denied" kind of feel to it. We'll see if it's sustainable.. With all that great young pitching, I'd expect the Cards to be back... |

Drew worked with Oquendo for years on his fielding? Where did this happen?
Drew giving out props during post WS interview? Wonder if it was Boras's idea? |

Yes. The ridiculous economics of baseball are one of the reasons why I lost my love for the game. There's others, also, but it's hard to root for a team where the thumb is so massively on the scales. Sox fans complain about the Yankees' payroll, but seriously, look in the mirror. Baseball is the most absurdly unfair major sport in America, IMHO. My comment was more that this seems more like a "lightning in a bottle" year than a "wow, we have a ton of talent and should clearly compete for years to come" kind of team. |
Bogaerts looks to be a great prospect, but I don't see much in the pipeline for the Red Sox. Losing Ellsbury and Drew will hurt, and Victorino and Ortiz will be yet another year older. I'm sure they'll just open the war chest for Napoli and they'll probably go out and sign Shin Soo Choo.
