I don't think he deserves COY over Hoiberg, but I don't see how it's unreasonable to mention his name.

The hyperbole is entertaining though... whiny bunch today.

Yes, your hyperbole about it being unreasonable to even mention his name is laughable. Nobody said anything close to that, not that KU fans care about Mizzou.

I will predict what KK will say after his current line of smack dies down...

"No one is upset that Martin voted for Self, it's obvious FM didn't really see stiff competition between MU and Kstate having beaten them twice."

I'll admit that I was jealous of Nebraska last year and liked listening to KK bag on them, so maybe it works. The difference is that you can alienate the Nebraska fanbase and not lose many listeners in KC. I don't think that's true of Mizzou.

Its not like there's anything else interesting about his show. Smoke and Fire commercials, the Racing Boys, and soon to be bitching about putting up screens at Kaufman Stadium for 2 hours a day now that baseball season is around the corner.

I listen to 810 until 2:00 and switch to 610 (if I'm listening to the radio).

He lights up Twitter and the other local media more than anyone else and it isn't even close.

Well....maybe Jack Harry that is

What Self did with his cast of The best player in college basketball and remaining 4-5star recruits was as expected. What Haith did with his last minute lineup was outstanding.

Plus, everyone seems to have forgotten that Bowers was considered close to or equal to Denmon in importance to this team going into the season. So Haith had to overcome a season ending injury to a key starter as well.

That's an idiotic POV. What he did in 2009 should have no bearing on what he did this year from a coaching standpoint.

Haith was given a complete team that has appeared in the tourney 3 years in a row.

Too bad he doesn't light up Arbitron.

Seems like before this year, KU fans were bitching high and low about how Self had fallen short in the recruiting area over the last couple of years.

His ratings have really dipped below that whiny wannabe on 610? Now that is embarrassing.

DJ's post was about KU/COTY.
My post was about KU.
The discussion is about COTY.

When did I 'care' about MU?

Haith was given a team that was picked fourth or fifth in the conference WITH Bowers in the line up. He turned a border line top 25 team into a top 5 team in the country....Self had much more in the cupboard than Haith did.

Naadir Tharpe is a 4-star coming off your bench. Your 5 starters are all 4 stars or better.

But hey, you have to make due with a scrappy, white 3-point shooter coming first off your bench, so clearly it's been a huge mountain for you to climb. You have a walk-on 6th man; huzzah. Our 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th man are walk-ons - do we get a medal for that?

Like I said, the narrative around this KU squad is ridiculous. We're all supposed to bow to Bill Self because he only has 6 4-star guys on his roster. Boo - ****ing - hoo.

|Zach| 03-05-2012 03:02 PM

Honestly who gives a ****.

Mizzou will have a good but prob not great run and Kansas will lose to a Missouri Valley team.

Or maybe not. Lets just keep playing basketball. JFC.

Bambi 03-05-2012 03:02 PM

KK has only dropped below 610 because 610 has the Royals games which skew the numbers during the afternoon timeslot. This is pretty common knowledge and was discussed a year or so ago when 610 got the contract.

eazyb81 03-05-2012 03:02 PM

@GottliebShow
Frank Haith is AP national COY, not one of two Big 12 COYs--- now that is interesting

LMAO at the petty Big Leftovers.
