He seemed to have some skills but maybe, with the upside so small for whoever is playing the 4th or 5th WR, the potential for disaster from not knowing what to do is greater than putting a dude who, while slow and unable to create much in the way of plays, won't screw the pooch at a bad moment and cost the Chiefs a game.

May just be a "he may suck a little, but the other guy sucks a lot" situation.

To your point, I distinctly remember a crucial late in the game Jason Avant 3rd down catch for a 1st down not too long ago.

It's starting to look like a weird situation.

It's looked "weird" for the past week or more.

Putting him on IR gets him out of sight and out of mind.

If he's got extraneous shit happening, **** him and get him out of the locker room at the most critical point of the season.

I hope one of them went to Dorsey

Squalor2 01-02-2016 09:35 PM

welp, looks like dat is going the borland route. he ultimately has to make football decisions we never will face.

ThaVirus 01-02-2016 09:58 PM

It'd be hilarious if the news comes out and all of this has absolutely nothing to do with retiring over concussion concerns

I don't if it'd be "hilarious" but Reid is definitely distancing himself from the situation.

I'm speaking strictly in relation to the speculation in this thread.

You know what I find hilarious? The fact that you made it a point to SAVE my opinion of DAT. In fact your intent, as you informed me, was so you could "bring it back later." Well - what are you waiting for? :loser:

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Hammond as a punt returner.

As a matter of fact, his numbers would be elite if he were allowed to return a full season.

He's still a young guy with plenty of upside. Those are the types of guys I've wanted for the Chiefs going back to Marty's days.

Draft, sign, develop.

**** the old guys like Avant, who hasn't done shit this season, as I projected, other than to take away snaps from guys like Conley.

Right!!? There was another WR the Chiefs had during preseason, dude caught everything thrown his way - I forget his name, but him and Hammond should've made the opening day roster over DAT and WASTE OF SPACE Avant.

If that makes sense

Reid and Smith trust Avant. He must be a calming presence and locker room leader. That has to be it.

It's sure not his potential and it damn sure as shit isn't his productivity.
