Yeah I was just reading this. Sounds like both teams are complaining, and the results they list in the article bear that out. Game 3 was the first time all year Darvish did not get a swing and miss with his slider. Metrics showed that he averaged about 3/4 of an inch less break than in the regular season.

Same thing with Verlander, he only got one swing and miss on his slider in Game 2. Said he can tell it's different because when he signs autographs before the game it's harder to get the ink to stick on the ball. Kenley Jansen gave up a HR last night on a slider for the first time this year.

Yeah I don't get it. Girardi did the same thing twice this post season. Brought Chapman in up 5 plus two times. When the team is gonna see your closer 2 more times at least, why give them a few stress free at bats to get used to him?
