If NASCAR calls the race and the #43 Almirola wins (leader), it would be on the King's (#43 car) 40th anniversary.

Cool script.

Edit: 30th or 40th....

Kyle Petty is delusional. Austin Dillon doesn't have a 1/4 of the talent Larson has. In fact, Austin should still be racing the $3 in Nationwide Series or Truck Series full-time. Chase Elliott at 18 years old has more talent than the Dillon brothers.

When does ESPN take over NASCAR's races? It can't come soon enough.

You're ****ing kidding me...

Dylan do you remember when NASCAR had a race at a St. Louis race track and the track was breaking apart all over? It was the last time they used that track.

Maybe 8-10 years ago.

Dylan 07-13-2014 01:08 PM

Oh Stenhouse! He took out more than half the field last week in Daytona -

@ GloryDayz :D

NASCAR Nationwide Series at Chicagoland on ESPN2.

Larson and Kahne are the only Cup drivers in tonight's race

Stands are kind of empty - Everyone must be racing their own cars shooting one another. The thrill of the chase and the kill.

Dylan 07-19-2014 08:22 PM

Awesome race!

Kyle Larson leading the race and Chase Elliott is trying to get around him!

143/200 laps.

Ty Dillon running 3rd.

Edit: Elliott got around Larson for the lead - talented drivers

Larson is coming back and trying to pass him on the outside.

Dillon in the #3 dropped back to 5th.

Trevor Bayne 3rd and Brian Scott running 4th

Larson and Bayne are beginning to run faster laps than Elliott - Leaders are coming in to pit.

Edit: Kahne scrapped the wall pretty good - cue in Al Bundy... :D

GloryDayz 07-19-2014 08:49 PM

Dylan 07-19-2014 09:04 PM

Wow...Chase Elliott wins in Chicagoland!

Elliott leads in the points.

2. Trevor Bayne
3. Kyle Larson
4. Kasey Kahne
5. Ty Dillon

7. Erik Jones #20 - Toyota. Jones is another 18 year-old rookie, driving for Joe Gibbs.

RED FLAG
BBC co-commentator David Coulthard points out that Lewis Hamilton's wheels were locked so it is "not accurate" to say brakes failed. He adds that Sachskurve, where Hamilton crashed, can catch a driver out but Hamilton is "not in the habit of throwing the car off."

From the BBC:
Brake failure is "another gift" for Rosberg - Hamilton
Quote:

Lewis Hamilton said the brake failure which put him out of qualifying was another “gift” for his team mate in the championship.

“There’s still a decent amount of races to go,” Hamilton reflected while talking to reporters afterwards. “Obviously Nico’s basically got another gift but we’ll do what we can tomorrow.”
"Rosberg's lap was really impressive. Hamilton didn't sound like he knew why he was sixth tenths off [Rosberg] there. Six tenths is a lot."

Germany not Rosberg's home race says Hamilton
Quote:

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton says he is not trying to employ mind games against team-mate Nico Rosberg in their championship fight.

Hamilton told British newspapers that this weekend's German Grand Prix was "not really Rosberg's home race."

The Briton said: "To be honest, Nico has never actually been in Germany, so it is not really his home race.

"When I was racing in karting he didn't stand with the grid girl next to a German flag ever. He always stood by Monaco."

29-year-old Rosberg was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, and his mother is German. His famous father Keke, however, is Finnish, and Rosberg has spent most of his life in Monaco and still lives in the Principality.

"I know he has grown up in Monaco so Monaco is his home town," Hamilton insisted.

"He is German, Finnish, Monegasque or whatever, so he will get that support in Monaco and in Germany he has always had great support there. It is always good to beat others on their home turf," he added.

Meanwhile, Hamilton rankled at a reported comment by Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff after Silverstone that, following his Silverstone retirement, Rosberg offered Hamilton a piece of advice, or a 'tip', en route to victory.

"Toto said that?" Hamilton responded, joking: "That's good. Toto likes being on that side of the garage."
http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns28437.html

Hamilton needs a coach to learn how to control frustration, so that it does not control him. Every week without fail, he takes a swipe at Rosberg. He has for the most part, disrespected teammates his entire career in F1.

I do not understand why fans root for him.

Just my opinion

Dylan 07-19-2014 10:42 PM

Just a reminder: Set your alarms for the German Grand Prix Sunday morning... :D

Formula 1: German Grand Prix, Sunday 8 a.m. ET, CNBC

http://www.formula-1-racing.net/imag...ny-circuit.jpg

The DRS zone for Sunday’s race at the Hockenheimring will be on the straight leading to the Spitzkehre hairpin, turn six on the circuit.
Quote:

DRS — Drag Reduction System. A moveable rear wing component (flap) that, when opened, reduces drag permitting higher straight-line speed. For years adjustable bodywork was banned in F1 until DRS was introduced in 2011 as a technology for increasing overtaking. The system is activated electronically such that only a car following another car by less than 1s at a specific point on the track is able to “stall” downforce on the rear wing by using the DRS.
Fast Fact: German Grand Prix Qualifying is super important at Hockenheim, even if overtaking is possible, if the stats are anything to go by. Only three times has the winner come from lower down the grid than the front row since 1987.

Brad is very talented - No surprise - If you followed his career in NASCAR's lower level circuits.

Dylan 07-20-2014 06:26 AM

What? I messed up the time for today's race - It has already started

Hamilton is bullying his way up front - I hope Ricciardo puts him in the wall.

Someone got taken out in lap 1 ??

Lap 15/67

Rosberg is in the lead

Wow, a lot of contact all over the track - This track is very narrow.

Hamilton up to 2nd - I have a headache - I am so tired

Edit: It is starting to rain.

Edit: Oh for cryinoutloud, Hamilton hit his former McLaren teammate in the rear - Jenson Button - Hamilton is such a dumbbell. I hope he ruined his car.

Hahahahaha! They might have to change the nose of Hamilton's car - He damaged the front wing. Good, serves him right.

[Replay] Wow - on lap one Massa had a frightening crash and turned over - Looks like he cut the corner - Lucky that he did not sustain injury.

Edit: LOL...Hamilton is losing downforce.

Bottas is running 2nd... I like him

Rosberg has a 17s lead.

Edit: An amazing battle going on between Ferrari drivers Ricciardo and teammate champion Alonso -

Ricciardo and Bottas are future young Grand Prix winners - Great drivers.

Dylan 07-20-2014 07:44 AM

Rosberg wins the German Grand Prix !
Bottas comes in 2nd for the 3rd time in three weeks
Hamilton comes in 3rd - amazing job

Hamilton OK after car catches fire early in qualifying in Budapest on Saturday.

Quote:

F1 Regulations: There are restrictions on power units (engines) and gear box use. Each driver may use no more than five power units. Should a driver use more than five of any one component he faces a penalty ranging from a five-place grip drop, a 10-place grid drop, or (if the entire power unit has to be changed) starting the race from the pit lane. The components consist of the engine, the motor generator unit-kinetic (MGU-K), the motor generator unit-heat (MGU-H, the energy store (ES), turbocharger (TC) and control electronics (CE).
Hamilton will start Sunday's Hungarian GP from the pitlane as Merc will need to rebuild his chassis following qualifying.

Hamilton is on his fourth power unit and Rosberg has three power units left. Although, I could be wrong.

Hungaroring is traditionally a difficult circuit to overtake - but with the speed advantage of Mercedes this season, Hamilton should make up time in the pits. Nevertheless, Merc cars are proving to be unreliable.

Ricciardo had a damaged rear wing in qualifying on Saturday - Otherwise, he could have placed second or third. Although, Bottas is proving to be a hard charger, so...
