I don't see them pitching him on 2 days rest. Unless it was relief and why would you when they have a great bullpen amyway?

I agree it has been a hell of a ride, but I'm not really in the mood to think about that right now.
Winning Tuesday is the only thing on my mind. |

Hopefully the Royals watch the 8th inning of the wildcard game on the plane home and remember what ****ing got them this far.

Ya sadly Shields gave up two runs but one run is all they needed with that "thing" pitching for the Giants. Our bull pen didn't do us any favors bottom of the 8th we still needed to run scores to win. 0 points wont win any game. So I appreciate James Shields for the season he has got us to this point anyways. |

It's amazing to me how many posters can't grasp the concept that a starting pitcher can't just pitch every day. Throwing a baseball 117 times breaks your arm down, and it takes 4 days of rest for the guy to be back at full strength. |

For reference, if you are old enough, please see the Royals inserting Dennis Leonard, who had been unhittable in earlier games, to finish out a game as a reliever. We lost.... |
We look the the Orioles did -- too many batters trying to do too much with each swing. The Giants have a brilliant hitting approach comparatively. And yeah, the BABIP gods are anointing & blessing the Giants these past two games. But that can change.
When the backs were against the wall against the A's we saw total confidence from the Royals. When the games were tight & going into extras against the Angels, or early against Baltimore, we saw total confidence. We saw crisp defense. We saw patient at-bats & smart approaches at the place. It's on Yost to get his clubhouse into that right frame of mind for games 6 & 7. These Royals have responded so well to trouble before & they need to once again. |

Like a boss. |
If there was any chance of him going Wednesday why would they bother pitching him the 9th up 5-0?
Cmon man! |

Keep your heads up gents. Winning game 6 and 7 at home to win the World Series is going to be something we remember for the rest of our lives.
Can't wait for Tuesday. Night all. |

If you care about history at all... since 1980, the game 5 winner in a 2-2 series has actually still lost 7 of the 13 series.
And in most cases if the team up 3-2 let it get to game 7, they lost. Only once did a game 5 winner lose the next game and recover. |
I feel Ned can get them ready. He's had this teams back all year. Let's do it Royals
|
If you would have told me the Royals only had to win two home games against Peavy and Hudson to win the World Series I would have given you a hug and said thanks.

I don't think they were anything gutless just had a hard day at work. They just got outclassed by pitching and nothing they could do about it. |
The one thing that concerns me about game 7 is that the approach that the Giants have taken against the Royals bullpen the past two nights -- just put barrel to ball, not trying to do too much -- ought to work pretty well against Guthrie. Guthrie doesn't have a putaway pitch on the level of Shields' changeup or Ventura's pure stuff. We're going to need more from the infield defense.

The only thing that matters now is winning games 6 & 7 nothing else matters.

14 unanswered runs
Embarrassing |

I wonder if this postseason is going to legitimately change the game and bring teams back to focusing on contact more. The Royals were last in K's by over 100 and it's obviously helped them in the playoffs. I saw someone mention a couple weeks ago... teams that made more contact won playoff series X percentage of the time. Forget what it was, but it was a high percentage. |
well PB is back on my ignore
We are in the World Series. Everyone just needs to sit back, relax, and enjoy game 6. If we lose, we still have a ton to be proud of as fans. What a great, great, great resilient badass team. I'm proud of them either way...winning games 6 and 7 would be epic, though. Either way, I'm going to really enjoy it. |
Last 2 in KC, yall got this. Keep faith.

This. This season has been amazing. Sure I would love to win but I'm sure the Eagles fans felt that way when they lost to the Pats. We are playing a dynasty. There is no shame on losing this series. However, they Giants will have to win it in front of a rocking Kauffman Stadium and a steady diet of 97+ MPH. If they do it, tip of the cap. But if not, we're gonna have us some fun come Wednesday. |
Agreed.
The Royals still have NOTHING to lose. Play loose. The fans have their back. So amazingly proud to be a Royals fan. |
Really hope we win this. I don't know if I'll be around in 29 years for another go-round of this lol.
|
i hope you guys have one more miracle in ya. I have to be honest the way you beat Oakland and got to the World series I really thought you guys were going to take this and you still can. I really hurt for you guys, I don't want those jagoffs to hoist that trophy again, it's killing me inside.

One thing is for sure, there isn't a city that deserves a World Championship more than our city. If we prevail, party for months, KC.

@jflanagankc: Giants fans say they expect parade in SF will be on Halloween day. #royals
|
@TheRealJGuts: We wouldn't want to do this anywhere other than in Kansas City w/you guys... turns out we have no choice. We Ready!

Frustrating last few games... and lot of very questionable decisions from Yost last night. The Nix/double switch/Herrera stuff was very, very questionable last night. Indefensible, really.
But... the good news is that the Royals have the advantage in the next two games as far as starting pitching goes and won those matchups the first time around. Bumgarner is a beast, and REALLY locked in right now, but he can't have more than a few innings left at this point. Jump on Hudson early in Game 7, and Bumgarner can't make that big a difference. |

Game 4, the Giants just got to the middle relievers. And the entire series, they have just been battling through at-bats. I don't know how many hits they (and especially Pence) have on one-handed, two-strikes swings in this series, but I bet it's pretty close to half of them. That's beating the Royals at their own game. Can't get mad, just have to get credit. |
