That's how we had to do it in high school. It was so much harder than a regular PK. The goalie charging out and cutting the angle made it difficult. My strategy was always to take one small touch and then blast a shot before the keeper got out to narrow the angle.

Putin scored 8 goals in a match when he was 66 years old if that tells you anything about the athletic ability needed for white trash figure skating.

This is the cherry on top of the demise. I really hope he gets benched in his final World Cup. I don’t think a lot of Portugal fans want him beating Eusebio’s WC goal record for Portugal. Will be interesting to see what the coach decides tomorrow.

No, but his attitude is awful. Yelling at teammates, disgruntled at the coach for subbing him off, complaining that a goal was rightly awarded to his teammate instead of him.

Yes. He’s lost a ton of speed obviously in his old age and brings no defensive effort. He’s a goal poacher essentially. It’s why he wasn’t getting any looks from any top teams and is really only linked to the Saudi Arabian league right now. He has a goal from a penalty in this World Cup, but has been pretty much worthless outside of that.

22% of the possession for Morocco

Eleazar 12-06-2022 11:15 AM

Morocco with a grade A scoring chance at 103', should be ahead.

Great play from their keeper as well.

Maybe what we are seeing is a general flattening of the landscape of international football? So many upsets, and so many little guys playing the big teams tough.

Idea is to give the keeper less time to read body language on where it is going.

Certainly not, but they played Croatia to a draw and they were two goals better than Belgium, who is a very good team. They seem not to be taken lightly.

There's no way that would happen. He'd get subbed in near the end of extra time for sure. He's still a superb penalty taker.

Placement always trumps power. The problem is all the weak attempts have bad placement as well. You can get a hard, bad place kick through but not a soft, bad placed kick.

If he would keep quiet and accept a lesser role, like a supersub kind of player, he'd have plenty of teams interested. But he still wants to be the talisman of a club and the pay that goes along with it. For example, Real Madrid desperately need a quality backup striker, but Ronaldo would NEVER allow himself to play behind Benzema and spend a lot of time on the bench, so they pass on him, just like every other team.

George Liquor 12-06-2022 01:19 PM

Reminded me of that hail mary to Hopkins AZ had against the Bills, surrounded by defenders and just skies to find the exact spot to put it home.

Cockblocked? Morocco is not some pushover squad. They’ve held their own against Spain, Belgium, Croatia and Canada. They aren’t pulling rabbits out of their hats. They’re a good team. They should be able to go toe to toe with Portugal too. Nothing shows that they can’t. Spain dominates possession against everyone.
